I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary. I really do not prefer one company over the other. They’re both great! I’m very confused here. TIA🙏
Raises without title changes are tough. Especially in holding companies.
You need a great boss who will fight for you.
Every significant raise I’ve ever received came from jumping around between companies. I was making six figures after six years, which is a pretty decent trajectory I think.
At the bigger holding company-owned agencies, yeah, definitely. Indies, ymmv, but also probably yeah.
Why would your company promote you from within when they can just give you the extra work to do at your current salary/title? 🤔
