No hiring manager wants to read a full one page resune when doing initial scan, let alone multiple pages
Bucket your experiences together. For example...."Cross industry experiance with Xxxx and YYYY; engagement highlights include:
The list a few sub bullets of most impactful engagements.
Repeat for 2 or 3 things you want to highlight and are most relevant for job applying to
2 pages is fine. No more. 1.5 better. I hire a lot of people and I barely scan a resume. You have to make your pitch up front and punchy.
8 years from staff to senior manager, tons of projects and clients along the way. One page seems tough unless everything its jammed together and then readability gets lost
@P2 - I would say you can leave out the specific experiences and bullet points without omitting the position altogether. That way the actual “work experience” is shown, but any extra unnecessary space detailing the specifics are avoided.
I think over a page is acceptable in some instances, but is everything truly still relevant? I have a hard time believing whatever you did in your entry level job is going to still be so relevant as to be included in a resume after a decade. But that could be the case in some fields (maybe coding and highly technical fields??)
@Mck - can you share your burner? I’m looking for a change
If you leave out experiences that are not relevant then how do you address the gaps
