We have a Chicco Cortina stroller and I love it.
It was $299.99 with the car seat and a base.
Love our Chicco travel system!
No - overpriced, heavy and not necessary
I loved my Cruz. Wasn’t planning on having kids close together so didn’t need double. I loved the spacious basket and the really generous sun shade on bassinet and stroller. Better than my friends struggling to angle their sun parasols. It takes up a lot of space in car but I walked most places. Also handy that the bassinet was approved for night sleeping in which meant I felt safe using it a grandparent occasionally instead of taking crib.
I have the Cruz. I like it better than the Vista. Not as wide (which is such an asset in NYC stores) and lighter. I would only get the vista if you're planning on having your kids 2 or less years apart. If your kid is 3 or older when your second is born, you really don't need a double stroller. You can just put the baby in a carrier for a few months and then my 3 1/2 or so, they're walking enough, you won't need rhe stroller for them day to day.
We have a vista and I love how it pushes and how comfortable it is for the baby. However it’s heavy for me to lift in and out of the car. Also it sucks as a double, unless you have two very close in age and live in the urban area where it’s difficult to push a side by side stroller. My 2 kids are 2 years apart and we rarely used it a double.
Yes. We have 3 children. If you plan on having more than one you are just going to end up wanting it after your first. Spend money on quality and things that save you time/convenience. You’ll never regret it.
We absolutely love it. Bought it used for the first baby for $300 and bought a few replacement fabric components from Uppababy to reduce the need for deep cleaning and get the cover I wanted. We did also get a smaller travel stroller for flying and driving places.
I’m happy with it. First is 18months and I’m preggo with number two. We live in the suburbs, but we take it everywhere. It is heavy, but it also stores a lot of stuff
I tested out the vista and the baby jogger city select lux and liked the lux better. I also got it 20% off + used the BBB completion coupon and only paid around $400 for it. We definitely want more than 1 kid and they will likely be 18 months apart. Definitely test drive them!
Yes! Had 3 kids in a span of 3.5 years and love the vista. Highly recommended if you are planning on having multiple children.
Traded my vista in for a Cruz. Vista was just too bulky for my NYC life. Vista Couldn’t fit through my narrow doors without collapsing it or manage pre-Covid crowded stores . Love Cruz for zipping up and down grocery aisles. Miss vista for NYC rough and tumble sidewalks but CRUZ certainly holds its own. 1 kid. So didn’t need Vistas two kid configuration.
Expecting our first baby and really considering the Mockingbird. Reviews are good and price is awesome!
In the end, try to put aside those hormone-filled impulses to get the thing that's most popular and has bells and whistles that distract you from its drawbacks and just make the decision based on a realistic view of what YOU need out of a stroller. You may find that it's the Uppababy Vista, or it's the opposite of that.
Be open to going to a few stores and spending an hour at each just testing out all the strollers! Go with your partner or someone else you can bounce ideas around with. Lol it's worth doing that research and testing. We have found that certain "lightweight" strollers really weren't and certain brake or fold mechanisms were tricky and annoying. You really need to get a feel in person so definitely never buy a stroller sight-unseen just based on online descriptions/reviews and definitely look at more than 5 in person. Once you narrow it down, keep an eye out for sales! Paying full pop is a shame so the sales are worth waiting for. If you get something that works for YOUR use case, you will be happy with the product and what you paid for it... whatever that may be! Good luck!
Is your region in a lockdown where you are not permitted in stores? That is the case for us currently. 😞 If it's just restricted (masks and social distancing) it is absolutely worth going in. Bring lots of sanitizer and you're good. 😷👍
If you can't go in-store now... When are you due? I know it feels good to have these decisions sorted sooner ( nesting!!!) than later but if you have a few months, it may be worth delaying.
I say this as someone who usually swears by online reviews, blogs, and trusted forum recommendations but whether you spend $100 on a stroller or over 10x that, it's worth doing the in-store test. I had a short list based on online research/recommendations and went into stores to test those mainly. While we were there we noticed other strollers and the comparisons in how they looked and felt like in person really helped us. Turns out we discovered other strollers (great strollers) we didnt hear much about online. Our top three ended up being completely different than the list we originally went into stores with... I chalked that up to the fact that online reviews rave about specific strollers but are not specific to their unique use cases. We found that some of the things others found important weren't a big deal to us and vice versa. I forget the name but a really popular stroller at the time turned out to have the most annoying fold mechanism which helped us eliminate it instantly (we confirmed it wasnt just that store model).
And if you are up against a wall and 8 months pregnant and NEED a stroller ASAP, hehe, then buy based on recos and online reviews but from a retailer with a flexible return policy. If you can, place more weight on reviews that go into specifics about use cases that align with yours) and take everything else with a grain of salt.
If you want more than one kid, invest in a stroller that can convert from a single to a double stroller. They are expensive at the outset, but buying additional strollers later is more expensive. I’ve heard good things about the mockingbird stroller. I love the uppababy and it was worth the cost to me.
