Hi,
I am looking to learn more about the NPI program manager role at Apple. Specifically want to understand the following:
1. What's exactly the day to day beyond the fluff job post?
2. What skills will be considered critical to be successful in the role?
3. How is success defined in the role?
4. What does the career progression look like?
5. What background is considered desirable for this role? Can one get into this role without prior background in NPI?
Thanks in advance!

There are points in between “hiring freeze” and “hiring like crazy”.
This is entirely anecdotal but about a month ago BCG said I would hear final feedback a day or two later. It’s been a month and they are delaying this feedback every week. Sounds like a waitlist or hiring freeze situation.
Just got invited to interview for one of the firms today—they said target start dates are for January-March timeline. Very anecdotal, but things appear to still be moving.
Associate level! I applied back in early August and just heard back finally. I’m guessing that lag had a lot more to do with undergrad cycles going on at the time than anything. Not super familiar with how the experienced hiring is structured, but that’s how it’s going for me! I’d say just apply whenever you’re ready to apply—I’d have a hard time believing they’d throw apps out just because they applied at the ~wrong~ time. I’m sure there’s a queue. They would miss out on tons of great applicants if they just tossed out apps they weren’t ready to look at.
Bain just resumed experienced recruiting

Very interested - BCG has slowed down a bit
BCG2 any reasons provided and is it official?
I have been told that 2/3 of the MBBs are finished hiring for this Calendar year

You likely missed the window.
MBB just finished recruiting for the year. We have summer hires from school + experienced hires year round. Now, at least BCG has a full bench right now too.
Perhaps you will see hiring pick up for next year.
I have an interview with BCG this week
