Is there a life after public acctg in Real Estate? Im a sr mgr in tax working RE exclusively (no REIT experience). Have come to terms with the burn-out and want to do something that has more work life balance but also opportunity for growth. Any ideas are appreciated. I like tax and the industry but the people around me have become too much for me to bear.

Hi Fishes, any ZS Associates fish that can give some info about WLB at London office? Right now working at B4, are there any differences?

Also do you know if the title is negotiable during the offer? I will get an offer for assoc. consultant but in my current company I was offered to be a manager. So it would make my decision a lot easier if the role was consultant.

Thanks!

I’m a new associate working for a well-known defense attorney in my state. On one hand, I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn from one of the best, but he also excoriates and belittles me for my mistakes. Any advice on how much it tolerable? I am here to learn and advance my career but he can be pretty nasty. (My mistakes are no worse than you’d expect a 1st year associate to make, in case you’re all wondering if I’m a major screw-up who deserves it) I leave work feeling a foot tall.

Hi all, I am a Enterprise BDR currently at my company and looking for referrals to tech companies such as Slack, Salesforce, Outreach, etc. for AE Roles.
I am the top performer on my team across EMEA, APAC & US, always at 100-300% of target.
I am based in the UK myself. Happy to connect/hop on a call with anyone!

I really like this house that’s selling for $275k. I want to put in an offer, but think it’s realistically worth $255-$260k. The house is being sold by a company ie Orchard. Should I just buy the house since I like it or do I wait for prices to come down in the next few weeks and look for another house to not overpay?

I have an inspection scheduled for a townhouse and learned that there is no access to the roof (the house does not have an attic with roof access). This is an old house (>100 yrs) and I would like for the inspector to be able to view the roof to see if there are any issues. The sellers said we can use a drone but my inspector / none of the inspectors I’ve asked use a drone. Is there anything I can do here? The house is 3 stories.

How do you not get ripped off by contractors? I had 4 electricians quote me 2k for a job. My dad got on the phone and explained he knew exactly the effort required and material cost and got 2 of them down to sub 1k. How do I gain this knowledge/ability?
