Is there a professional way to ask your client when they REALLY plan to get you your info requests? Or a nice way to tell them to hurry it up?

I once called a client and said I didn't mind staying on phone until when he sends whatever he had, at the time I didn't know it was an aggressive move. But it worked

I always ask for an estimate timeline on when I can expect the support. If they don't respond by EOD I call to "make sure my emails are going through."

like

Ask for an expectation on their end so you can plan accordingly to ensure everything goes smoothly

like

Why can't you make demand on timing?

like

Say you need to give the partner an estimate of when you will have it for their review

like

It just seems rude I guess I impose a deadline on them. They may have other things with higher priority going on. I'd rather get a realistic timeline from them and hold them to it somehow.

Just let them know you need it asap. If they are going to lag, talk to your senior/manager to give them a heads up.

I still need XYZ in order to complete the audit, can you provide these before noon today? CC their executive boss.

I should clarify that I am in tax and we can't really make demands on our clients for timing. I suppose I could combine both tips and say "I need XYZ to complete the tax return. When should I expect these items to be available?" Other suggestions welcome.

So I left B4 risk assurance because I found the work a drag and moved to a boutique place where I was hoping to get a better experience or shape my career the way I want. However, this place isn’t what I was expecting and the project I’m on requires deadly hours and is staff aug. I’m looking to do this for a year and go back to b4 (as I like being in a bubble) but a different service line. How possible is this?

What can you actually do to salvage a project going down in flames? I’m a new manager, completely do not have the support I need, and it seems as though every single team/person our team relies on to get things done on time has dropped the ball. All the issues are now coming to us. I don’t have the experience to navigate this all alone, and I am not getting the necessary support as all of my managers are swamped with other (to them, more important) issues at the same client.

I have a controversial observation: Facebook seems to be using recruitment process managers to get diversity hires.
