Is there a retirement requirement for partners? Curious when partners usually retire

How do you deal with deep seated financial insecurities?
I have more than enough to retire but I can't get myself to stop working. I still shop at thrift stores and can't get myself to dine at a good restaurant.

What is a comfortable salary for someone in their early 20s that still wants to go out but also build up your assets(401k, savings, brokerage etc) in NYC?

As salaried employees in London, how do you all optimise taxation? Pension contributions and ISAs? Or are there other ways?

My wife and I are 25. What are some checkpoints if I want to retire at 55? What do I need at 30, 35, 40 to make that happen? My number is $3.5 Million.

Me - 25 yo, $80k income, $20k bonus
Wife - 25 yo, $65k income, $5k bonus

Our net worth is at about $32k right now.

Question for someone in an HR or Ops role: is accrual of years for 401K vesting typically tracked against your month of start date or actual start date anniversary?

California has relatively low property tax rates. We had eliminated it as a potential retirement state because of the high income tax rate (maxing at 13.3%) but if you are planning to retire, couldn't you just buy your CA house with cash and pre-pay any other big expenses ahead of moving there - thus reducing the amount of income you'd need when you live there? If you can pre-buy all your big assets (mainly the house), then theoretically you don't need as much income when you live there.

For kpmg pension you’re 100% vested after 3 years. Anyone know when the clock for this starts? Start date? Or a year later? It’s not very clear and I called kpmg but they don’t seem to know either 😂

Did my decision round with BCG and came out feeling meh. The interviewers pushed me a lot (made me brainstorm on where to start until I found the right place) and didn’t really work with me through the case (just let me go on even if my I was a 0 off in my calculations).
