Is there a typical day when you tend to make offers? Like more likely to get an offer in the first half of the work week rather than the second half?

LOL. Interesting question, I never noticed but might as well think about it now. It's been sporadic, to be honest, but Wednesdays seem like "that" typical day.

I like giving the applicant the good news about the job offer early in the morning/afternoon so they can have time to review the offer and ask me any questions before signing it. There is no specific day that I do it on since interviews land on any of the weekdays. If we interviewed them in the beginning of the week, then we make the offer at the end of the week and vice versa.

Hmmm never thought about it, but I think it generally lands on a Weds/Thurs

Weird, I didn’t see a pattern, but yes, Wednesday!

Does any feel like they suppress their own positive thoughts? I can’t just be happy without it being accompanied by worry that I might lose something in return. Can anyone relate?

Interested to see some perspectives - currently working at a Payroll & Benefits Specialist at a fast growing company and recently passed my PHR! I just started this role only a few months ago but am already feeling like I can take on more, but not as much as a HR manager. I’m struggling to understand where exactly it is I can go from here. I’m 25, have 3 years of experience, and get paid $59k/year.

Where does one go from here? Thanks in advance for any and all answers!

For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?

We provide new hires a voucher to use to redeem company branded merchandise of their choice. They have 30-days to use it, otherwise it’s invalid and the funds return to the company. Do you believe the value of the voucher needs to be taxed like gift cards? My stance is no, because it’s a company purchase and just giving them the option of which merch item to choose and there’s no cash value.

I accidentally said sucks/ and a hiring managers first name in a 2nd interview for a TABP role and the company told the recruiter now they aren’t sure if they want to hire me because it. I was the top candidate for the position by a mile apparently. Should I just move on to the next one or are they being too picky? It’s been two years since I have interviewed and I was so nervous… is this what I have to look forward going back into the corporate world?

In your honest opinion, do you think your HR certification was worth it? I personally think certifications are a scam. 😅

I rarely have been asked about my certs in interviews and I never ask about certs when I'm interviewing.
