Won’t get employee match on 401k until next year I believe. Should I continue to contribute 15% or lower it and wait to contribute more when I get matched? Or does it matter? Hope to get some advice!

After I resign can I use some of my 401k to buy real estate/land outside the US and transfer the remaining with the 401k of the new firm?
Agonizing over whether to take 6 weeks of unpaid maternity leave. My son is 4.5mos old, so I’ve been home awhile. We can swing it financially, but would have to dip into savings. Opp cost is high...
Has anyone left EY and submitted a wageworks reimbursement in their last two weeks that they got paid for?
Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)
Changed the employer. New employer uses Schwab for 401K, previous employer had Fidelity. Anyone moved 401k from Fidelity to Schwab? How was your experience?
Allowing people to keep the per diem if they don't use all of it is a great motivator to eat less 🤔
Leaving the firm and the country. What do I do with my 401k? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Don’t plan on returning to the US anytime soon and I’m in my late 20s.
I’m a 28F who is barely getting into investing. It’s frustrating that it took this long but as a first gen college grad, my parents didn’t know anything about this stuff until very recently, so naturally I was never taught about it. It’s crazy to see people younger than me with all this knowledge on saving and investing. How did you learn so much at such a young age? Any advice for someone like me who is starting out so late in the game?
Noob question: how can I know my tax rate when i retire and start withdrawing money from 401k?
How much money would you personally need in your early 30s to: - retire and not work again? OR - work a very chill 9-5 job that basically lets you break even (no savings) but your principal is basically untouched (maybe you take some gains)
Are there any CA family law firms looking to contract out work (legal research, drafting briefs, disclosures, forms, discovery, etc.)? I have over 6 years of experience and am well-versed in family code and case law. (My attorney is on family leave so we don't have the workload I'm used to right now, and my husband might be switching jobs with a pay cut, so it wouldn't hurt to earn some extra money.)
Hi I am having some trouble on choosing between Deloitte and PwC for a 2022 winter internship. Some pros for Deloitte include being the largest firm, and the promotion to senior being 2 years opposed to 3 at PwC. Additionally, Deloitte offers a pension and has Deloitte university. The pros of PwC include a gym in the office and a younger work force. They also give me much less of a “corporate” feel and seem to offer more flexibility. I’m wondering if anyone could give me any advice on deciding?
Those who left US, what did you do with 401k when it’s most unlikely you return to work in the US again? Cashed out or rolled over to IRA (is it even possible to keep IRA even after moving abroad) ?
Considering an offer from a boutique consulting firm. Accenture matches 6% 401k while the boutique only matches 4%. Is this a huge difference at the end of the day, or am I overthinking it?
My wife makes 112k and I make 70k in NYC. She plans to go to law school in 18 months. She is very smart and so I believe she will get a scholarship. But assuming worst case scenario, we will take on debt to pay tuition (180k). My question is should we still fund our Roth 401k this year as we have in the past or stop funding it to save for Law school to decrease student loans? I believe post law school she will make 200k (big law) and I should be at around 100k.
Any NYC fishies with benefits through Progyny?
Are you recording and posting all of your live lessons for absent students to watch later?

After years of applying for jobs at Google, I finally received an invitation for a phone screen scheduled for this week. A few days ago, another recruiter reached out to do the same, for a position in another city at YT. Do I let them know that I’m already being considered for the other job, am I hurting my chances of getting in by interviewing for more than 1 role? TYIA for the help!
Rolex Sub, Sea-dweller or Deep Sea? Haven’t tried the latter two in metal and concerned that 43mm and 44mm maybe too big for my wrist (7 inches). But love the last two more. Can I wear it at work?
I am 24 years old and the advice I have been given is to max out my IRA and 401k before investing into a taxable brokerage account. If I do not plan on working until I am 59 1/2, is this sound advice since there is a 10% penalty of early withdrawals for both accounts?
When applying to companies, do you guys do research on the companies current economic circumstance and financial performance as an indicator of your risk assessment of job security?

Anyone else’s firm not uttered a peep about returning to the office? Majority of my attorney friends were told to return to the office full-time or for X number of days per week minimum. Mine hasn’t mentioned it once and while I’m obviously not complaining, just curious if anyone’s firm’s been the same.

Looking for input on a career decision. Me: 9 YOE, homegrown manager who is currently doing a stop in industry. I have an offer to return to consulting (M&A). My end game is pure strategy. Do I take the offer or wait for the opportunity to interview for pure strategy? My take is it’s more difficult to lateral the more senior you are in your career.
