Proactive is good - from personal experience, wait until at least 12-16 weeks to avoid the 'riskier' parts of the pregnancy.

like

Definitely wait until at least 12 weeks if not 16.

like

Now. Being proactive is key

It depends. Have you told anyone else? If there is a slight chance that anyone at the firm would find out now (from friends, Facebook, whatever), make sure people that matter find out from you. Ideally, you can wait till 12 or 16 weeks. I tried to wait, but I was so sick in my first trimester that I felt the need to explain to my coach what was happening and she was very understanding. Everyone else found out around 14-15 weeks, when I made it public to everyone.

OP, congratulations!!! Hope you have an easy pregnancy and wish you the best! Try to enjoy these first weeks as having something special, secret, and magic, that only you two know. Time flies!

like

Thank you all, I’m just 5 weeks and no one knows yet except my husband. Guess will wait till 12 weeks. Thanks!

Whenever you are comfortable, anytime now to 20 weeks. Consider staffing and busy season conflict tho.

Thank you CH1!

My husband and I are trying to have a second child and have been trying for over a year. I recently was referred to a fertility doctor and after many tests found out I don’t have much time (I’m 36). The doctors say all I can really do is live a healthy lifestyle (which I do anyways). Any tips or advice from moms that battled infertility? I’m trying to stay positive but it can be so hard sometimes.

I’m curious to hear from people at other firms what is offered in terms of part time work or alternative work options for people that don’t really care about making partner and might want to work part time. I just had my second child and want to ask to come back from maternity leave on a part time basis but our firm doesn’t seem to have anything in place right now. If your firm offers this, what’s the billable requirement, how much of a pay cut is it, and do you still get benefits? Thanks!

At what age do you stop taking a bath with your child? My 3 year old & I were in the bath together and suddenly he reached out to my chest and said “mumma, your lungs are outside, mine are inside my body” I was so embarrassed! I told him that those were my breasts and that grown ups have slightly different body parts. I normally take a quick shower before him and sit in the tub with him, as that’s our bonding time. I was wearing underpants so thankfully he didn’t notice my non-existant penis

Was getting yelled at by senior manager via Zoom for going over budget. Didn’t respond, just dropped from the call Intentionally, due to the tone/ aggression shown. Gave him 3 minutes to calm down and rejoined the zoom call. He settled down and adjusted his tone. Do you guys think I need to report to HR this behavior or just let it go? I’m a professional not a child to berate.
