Loyalty vs. jumping big 4 or RSM for 20-30% more at the senior level. This has all been triggered by a practically 0 percent increase YOY in comp. Thoughts?
For PPP forgiveness, is the 100,000 salary prorated only over the 8 week period or each period as well? Can you pay someone 1k per week and use the remainder as a bonus at the end?
Compensation/Year end discussion is coming soon, in a normal year, what are some good questions to ask? Tips for the conversation? What adjustments would you make, if any, for that conversation this year?
Is a KPMG Strategy (US) Director basically an SM level? Any idea what comp could look like for an external hire? Thanks all
Someone mind explaining to me the financial drawbacks of having to repay your bonus from a tax perspective?
Anyone work for Salesforce’s consulting team? What kind of offer should one expect with 6 yrs of experience? Base, signing bonus, stock, and annual performance bonus?
Currently at Big 4 management consulting post-MBA. Have offers with MBB and FAANG (strategy). Similar comp. Which would you take?
What salary can you expect after exiting from an MBB after 2 years no MBA? Looking at strategy/operation roles in NYC and SF at FAANG and other tech companies (e.g. Airbnb, Uber, Lyft)
I've often heard about the 1/3 rule when it comes to associate comp (you should be making about 1/3 of what you're bringing in). How big of a gap would you expect an associate to tolerate before asking for a change in comp? I'm on track for about a $75,000 gap between 1/3 of my collections and my comp. My firm is technically not lock step but does seem to be defacto lock step. I lateraled April of 2019 from a boutique so I'm unsure how this is generally handled.
Our firm is rolling out voluntary hour adjustment/reduced salary and although they are saying this program is not mandatory, I feel pressured because we had few nationwide webcasts on this and partners calling personally to discuss. I understand the worst scenario is to be laid off and taking a reduced salary may be better deal for many. However, the salary here is peanut compared to what they pay in US and cost of living is high - I barely manage with the current pay. Starting to get anxious 😟
For those who have been offered one in the past, what’s a typical retention bonus for a company trying to keep a team together to win new work?
Hi 🐠, can anyone share how firms assess which states are LCOL / MCOL / HCOL? Based on all the data I’ve seen from the BEA (CPI & RPP), my state is in the MCOL range, but received an offer grouping me into the LCOL salary range. Would really appreciate any insights you can share, TIA!!
Internal strategy teams at banks, what’s an acceptable range for a 1st year Director? Total comp? Pretty sure I’m getting short changed...
On getting into FAANG. For those who made the switch, what are the typical roles from, say, MBB? How did you go about it? What's needed on the resume if I'm planning 12 months out? Lvl and pay?
I already have a CSR and now thinking of getting an Airline and Hotel cards. I was thinking of Delta Platinum (70k miles, 1 companion ticket/yr and 195 annual fee) and the Marriott Card (75K points)
I booked a package (hotel+ flight) vacation through Expedia that got cancelled because of Covid, I was able to get my refund for the hotel but I can’t do it for the flight. The airline is telling me they’re gonna give me a credit with them but we were 8 people booking this vacation together, so having a credit makes is impossible ton manage. I Called the bank and they want a written proof that the flight is cancelled but the airline doesn’t want to send us any proof ... what do i do?
What is the best message when informing the rest of your company that someone was terminated? The backstory is that this employees performance has been struggling, he was put on a PIP, and in recent convos, he’s said that his role isn’t for him. As he is getting terminated due to performance, it feels more amicable now that he knows it’s not working and that he needs to find a new job. Thoughts on message to the rest of the company?
Deciding I’m treating this month like a vacation. Fuck saving money - I’m buying and eating whatever the fuck I want for a month! No 🧢
Tell me something good - how did you realize that your SO was the one for you? I went through a rough time these past few weeks after being laid off, immigration issues, etc. and I think my boyfriend might be the one for me. He’s always been there for me and I can be myself around him (with the breakdowns and all).
How do you approach a Partner about an extremely difficult client without sounding like you are complaining or can't manage the client?
Had an interview with another consulting firm and the interviewer goes “Yeah I worked 90 hours this week and have 200% utilization but my team is SO. NICE. Everyone is great here” ...... lol pass
