What are y’all’s hourly freelance rates? I make 110k/yr but am quite young. Used to do $50/hr freelance but I feel like that’s absurdly low compared to my salary. Thoughts?
Thinking about leaving the PM/Product Owner life. Would like to do something new, creative and keep current salary range. When researching for a major career pivot, what are some resources used to ‘see what’s out there’? Thanks!

What's the difference in salary for a normal product manager vs a technical product manager vs a platform product manager? I've been able to find a lot of data for a regular PM, but not as much for the other two...
Can anyone share Salesforce salary numbers in Houston. Solution Engineer or Customer Success?
The air conditioner in my room at DU is noisy. How much of an increase in my bonus can I ask for?
I work as a quant/associate at a large (>300 billion aum) long only mutual fund. Ive been here for about a year, but seeing how crazy the job market is, I’m wondering if I should put feelers out again. I like my coworkers and I work good hours. I get 110k as base, and got a 10k sign-on bonus. They said min bonus is 15k, but I’m not sure what the range is as I haven’t been around for a bonus cycle. This in a HCOL city. I also get 30% match in my retirement accounts. I have ~2 YOE. Thoughts?
Dear those of you drawing your boundaries and prioritizing rest/ balance. Keep going! Hold the line! We’re all we have! We are the only hope for changing this god awful culture of overwork, wearing mental and physical exhaustion as a badge of honor, and self-sacrifice. 🙏 we are humans before lawyers.
I think I smile and nod too much. How do I stop? I don’t want to smile all the time but it’s like I’ve been conditioned over time. It honestly is draining. Especially on zoom I can see myself and in my head I’m like wow I am a wreck smiling and nodding vigorously at the most inane things.
Just started a new job and after doing some research found out they do not offer a Roth 401k. My choices are limited to a traditional 401k or After-Tax Contributions. After speaking with a friend who’s a CFP, he suggested I contribute only to the After-Tax, but I wanted to validate that advice here. If it helps I’m 24 and my current base is around 110k. Thanks in advance!
Those of you who are objectively fit - how often do you eat “unhealthy” foods, if at all? Think chips, McDonald’s, ice cream, etc
I'm looking for an internship for Spring 2022, as a Business Analyst. I do not have any technical background. I'm pursuing my MS in Management with Business Analytics as my concentration. Does anybody here know of any openings?
It's Friday and I don't want to keep thinking about this so just tell me Y or N and I'll blindly believe you: Will I regret specializing in project management for SaaS stuff (instead of more technical SaaS roles) in 20-40 years?
Was originally planning an October 2020 wedding (nothing booked yet luckily) but now with COVID am thinking of delaying until 2021. Thoughts on when weddings of 50+ guests should start back up in USA?
Expecting our first baby in a month and as a male I have no idea what to expect; insurance does not include any videos / content to help prepare. Any leads to free content / paid content to help me prepare?
Need help deciding potential switch. 1) Mck Associate - 220k TC, 65hr a week. Should be able to make director in 3 years with 250k TC (EM exit). Very good sponsor network. 6 YOE, late 20s, no kids. Optimizing for quickest trajectory.
What’s everyone using for testing SAP these days? UFT on the way out? What’s becoming the standard?
How much do the B4 care about independence issues at the staff and senior level? Do ppl really have to sell all their stock in their audit clients before starting?
I went back to the office this month (3/4 days per week) and it’s been a positive experience. Plus it seems that some partners who are going in appreciated it. But the office is a 15 min drive away for me. Some people need to commute an hour plus to be there. Will they be at a disadvantage if they actually try to take advantage of hybrid WFH in the future?
For those who were at mid-tier firms and have left PA/are interviewing, did you feel that your exit opportunities were limited due being at a mid-tier? I’m genuinely curious as I’ll be joining a mid-tier and I am coming from a regional firm. Hoping to pay my dues for another 2-3 years to get senior promotion and get my CPA (halfway done) then exit PA. Don’t really want to hop into B4 but everyone always talks about the B4 prestige being a huge resume booster.
Heading to a factory to help the stabilize the front end. They have many workstreams for items downstream but don't realize they have to be stable up front first. We shall work on that.
I (31M) really don’t want to buy a Canada Goose, but moved to Minneapolis and it’s super cold. Have looked at Arc’teryx, Mackage, Moncler, Kanuk, and Herno. Any other brands I can explore? Willing to spend $1k-$2.5k USD.
How does everyone cope with and power through the long hours? I think adderall is a common thing in PA, what do you think….
