Is there any good reason to stay at a B4 firm over trying to jump to something like an A&M which blows the comp out of the water?

The B4 dedicates much more resources to your learning and development, so until you are proficient at FDD, I wouldn’t leave.
In the same light, with A&M, the bonus is directly tied to your billable hours, therefore people are less likely to take the time to develop and mentor you, because it’s directly dollars out of their pocket.

Agreed with Vice President, yes you need some guidance but we assuming we all passed the cpa and have a base level foundation you can learn on the job with or without formal training. We aren’t coding python blind here lol

I would stay at Big four. Think about long term career and compensation potential. U should join AM as director or above which can really maximize your earning potential

Yes might as well join as a senior or manager at A&M and start getting paid more than B4 directors

If you have enough experience to get in, then do it.

Is it difficult to jump from b4 FDD to A&M rx?

I’ve seen multiple B4 FDD seniors jump to A&M RX. They may not be hiring as much these days though as 2021 was a down year for RX

I have a Masters and 8+ years working in an external relations role in a hospital. I have since moved to the payor side. Would it be valuable to pursue another graduate degree (MPH or Dr PH) in order to advance in the payor world or would more education actually hurt my chances?
By advancement, I mean I would earn the degree and then try to find a job at a competitor. My leaders either don’t have graduate degrees or they don’t seem to value them.

Need advice! I’m currently interviewing for an account executive role and there’s a couple of red flags that have come up. 1. They aren’t able to tell me when I would have to relocate for the remote role I applied for. 2. Midway through the interviews—-the team decided to bump me down to a level lower which changes the base salary and commission. The recruiter is also unable to disclose why the team made that decision which makes me uncomfortable. What would you recommend?

I’m a mid level engineer and my team is overwhelmed. There’s more work than we can complete in the timelines that leadership/product has committed to, which is causing leadership to override technical decisions seemingly to meet those deadlines. An example would be routing all live traffic to a feature which was not fully tested, instead of waiting until testing is complete or having that change be dormant and the feature enabled later. Has anyone dealt with this type of issue?

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.

Partners/shareholders - how many hours are you expected to bill on work vs client dev and firm/associate management? My firm keeps saying that "there's no such thing as a relationship partner" and everyone top-to-bottom is expected to log 2000 hours/year on real billable work. Marketing etc is done on top of that. Is that normal?! If so, I'm going to have to totally rethink my life goals.
