You can’t flex cardio soooo
Depends on your goals.
Cardio /stamina/conditioning are tremendously important to me as an athlete.
If you just care about physique, it's probably not as important.
As long as you're eating at a caloric deficit I don't see a problem with just weight lifting to slim down. Personally I'm not trying to lose weight but I know a couple of people who never does any cardio and slimmed down successfully. But congratulations on losing 70lbs in a year that is amazing
Intermittent fasting is your answer to losing weight. I do the 16/8 version but there are other versions. Find the one that works for your lifestyle. It’s super easy and helps you to stay in a caloric deficit. Cardio is hardio! Lift heavy and focus on the main four barbell movements. Deadlift, Squat, Overhead Press and Bench Press. If you progress in those along with getting lean using intermittent fasting you will not only get stronger but look more aesthetic. Google leangains.
I feel heavier as compared to when i did a lot more cardio.. also i think i have less stamina.. not sure what the right balance is! Can anyone help?
I do 1/2 mile warm up and in between sets I do burpees or sprawls or anything cardio related.. I will never be on a cardio machine for more than 10 mins, or run more than 1 or 2 miles at once.. female 🐠 here if that makes a difference
I only lift, no cardio. But I've always been skinny and had a fast metabolism so it works for me. You're not gonna cut any weight doing it.
I have already lost about 70 pounds in the past year so my body is very used to my cardio/weights routine..which is why i decided stop cardio.. My goal is to get loose another 12 pounds without loosing muscle.. and my metabolism is really bad so understand that i probably would have to include some cardio.. however, with my work schedule and other stuff going on, i can hit the gym only thrice a week..
How'd you lose 70pounds on the road OP
@A2- was very consistent with workout (5 times a week) and tracked my calories religiously.
@Sc1, dd1 - thanks!
