Is there any paralegals that receive cash bonuses? If so, how much? I have been working at this law firm for 2 years and only received $200 bonus and that was when I first got hired.

Big law is usually around $10K.

I think my last merit bonus was $2000, but I’m relatively junior.

like

Yes. I’ve received an annual bonus at each of my three in-house positions as a percentage of my salary—10%, 30%, or 20%. All of these involved multipliers based on how the company performed on certain metrics. For instance, I might receive 86% of a 20% bonus of my salary.

like

My bonus was based on meeting and exceeding our billable goal. Meeting was a certain percentage of your salary then exceeding by certain increments was an additional amount figured in some weird way. My last bonus before leaving big law was $14k before taxes.

like

8k .. also based on performance. All of the attorneys and partners chip in.

like

2 years at my firm and we get 500 at Christmas time. They also gave us a 100 gas card this year. Other then that nothing. A hear of a lot of firms that their paralegals get bonuses vacations and so much more :(

Yes, I got bonuses based on a mysterious tier-based system. Some of my more awesome attorneys also sent me gift cards.

I’ve gotten about 1,500 deposited and taxed, so roughly 1000. I’m at a semi big law firm

My attorney sometimes gives me bonuses out of her pocket. It’s not much and we get a Christmas bonus. As a firm we don’t get bonuses except for Christmas

We get nothing aside from our annual bonuses.

What’s your annual bonus?

like

Yes, but I have found that if you work in big law the bonuses are significant. I don’t think my bonus is significant after realizing that. But it is better than nothing and helps pay for Christmas presents without it coming out of my normal paychecks. Which is nice.

My last firm was small (less than 30) but my bonuses were yearly at Christmas time 7k was the last received.

its only 5 ppl working at my job

I always got at least $1k when I was at smaller firms. Im inhouse now and its $7-9k.

I work in a mid to large firm and we only receive a $200 gift card during the holidays.

My current employer does give sizable bonuses ($5k+) if a certain amount of billable hours is met. My prior employer gave discretionary bonuses, typically no more than $2k

We get bonuses through incentives. We have to meet the goals though

We are eligible for a quarterly bonus of $1000 if we meet or exceed our hour requirement that quarter. Annual bonuses are usually between $2500 and $5000 but are pretty discretionary and seem to be based on absolutely nothing more than the mood of the compensation committee on a particular day (there is no metric or percentage based system that I know of). Last year staff received a $2k Christmas bonus but that was a once in a ten year period event.

I have been working as a marketing manager at a tech startup for 5 years and decided it’s time for me to see how other companies are working. I accepted a new job offer (40% salary increase) but the start up is really struggling to find someone to organize their main events. This would only take me max 5hrs/week. I decided to freelance for them as I can use the extra. How much does a campaign/event marketing manager charge per hr. as a freelancer? What is the norm for setting rates?

What if you started a new position in the last 4 months then you realize you accepted a salary way below market value? Is it reasonable to try to ask for a raise so early in the position? There are even other opportunities that would offer better salary but not as much educational advancement.

I have a total of 12 months of experience as an IP paralegal. The first 6 months were with a global law firm and the second 6 months were with a famous retail company. I am currently working with an agency that would like to assign me to a company that is in need of an IP paralegal for a total of 6 months. My current salary with the agency is £35k (based on my current experience) but I would like to ask for more money before I accept this new role. Please advise how much money I should ask for.

Just a question, maybe more of a vent, but I have been a paralegal for almost 6 years and worked in 3 different law firms and there is always 1 partner that just doesn’t want to do any work but also doesn’t want to retire. Any tips?
