My supervisor has stated after a month period they will look at a promotion for me- I have passed that 3 month mark and think I am ready. What is an acceptable salary raise to ask for? I’m thinking g of asking for 20k higher than my current salary(60k), is that outlandish? Thanks

Good Morning All, Looking for feedback on promotion raises with a title change inter company. Going from a senior role to associate director role. I've read a lot of mixed reports on negotiating the % of the overall raise.

An employee came to me in confidence to raise concern about a colleague of hers who speaks often about guns and how many he owns, etc. Based on what she's described, I don't believe this person has been threatened in any way, but it's clear that the situation is making her feel very uncomfortable - especially given recent events. What, if anything, can I or should I do to help? The company is on the smaller side, so there's really no option to move either employee to a different team.

I’ve been an atty for 5 years at a small firm where I started their PI with exp. from the firm I clerked for. Outside of books and seminars, I have no guidance or mentor. I am terribly underpaid in my current org at 5.5 LPA after a recent promotion and annual appraisal. Another mid size consulting firm offered me 7.5 LPA but I am asking them around 9 LPA. Has anyone taken classes in valuations and received some kind of credential with just an EA? After a bit of a detour I’m getting my EA this year. I‘ve looked in to a few options, like the CVA, but it looks like I’d have to go to business school or become a CPA. I’m not against either but I don’t feel ready to apply to schools just yet.
