I have recently joined TCS and it is pure development project I came from a support background having 2.5 years of experience. I am not able to understand the project and I want a release as there won't be any helping hand in near future and I wouldn't be able to give my 100 percent. What should I do to get a release I have already talked to my manager and lead they are not ready to release me as they are saying that they have hired me for this project.Tata Consultancy Wipro Cognizant Accenture

I’m a digital product designer with some background experience doing very basic coding like JavaScript, but I am definitely not a dev. I ordered a Playdate (play.date) and am looking forward to trying to make a game for it with my daughter. What’s the best place to start learning basic coding for making games? Assume I know nothing. Anybody else excited about the Panic Playdate?

By the way, Massachusetts, I love your appropriate usage of their and they're up there.☝️
LOL I am quite guilty of making this mistake often so had to go back and make sure this wasn't sarcasm! Pleasantly surprised myself! Thank you!

That's surely an annoyance.
I had a student call and order chicken wings from a local pho restaurant while I was actively teaching a lesson. But she said it was OK because her boyfriend was going to deliver her food. 🙄
Cell phones are the bane of education.
What upsets me is when mothers call their student in class and get mad at me for telling them to hang up!
Then they throw in the “what if it’s an emergency…”. Wasting more time. They are not mature enough to grasp phone etiquette. I ask to talk to “mom” and they hang up. I call or email mom after class and it hardly is mom.
Check the student handbook to see what the cell phone policy is. I know some teachers will have their own cell phone policy. If it continues to be a problem, I would talk to your principal and see if you would be allowed to make a no cell phone policy for your class.
I think it varies state by state! When I was in high school I wasn’t allowed to work over a certain number of hours during the week then no more than 40 hours a week in the summer (before I turned 18). This was about 15 years ago though so I’m not sure how much has changed! I also think workplaces are desperate for workers - nearly every restaurant and retail store near me has “help wanted” signs in the window. Managers may know they’re in school but they’re just desperate to have enough employees for their business.
Those are federal regulations, not state-by-state. Some states are stricter, but every state has to follow the federal minimums and maximums.
I used to be a restaurant manager, and was responsible for compliance with minor labor laws. It's a potential $1,00.00 violation for each occurrence.

In my district any phone or wireless earbud is confiscated if it’s visible. Parents must pick them up.
Crap with phones has to come to a halt.
My first thought was that the establishment where they work is hurting for staff and want to assure shifts are covered.
It’s very disrespectful and it is rude. I think some places are truly desperate- not an excuse.
That’s why I don’t teach high school.
It is probably a high school student that is skipping school to work(or last year’s grad) calling the other high school students at school to get help
I would find out the name of their business and call the head of the company! Their work CANNOT interfere with their education! Parents also need to be informed, as well! This not only stops the learning from the person being called but the entire class as well!
I don’t think so, but don’t most schools have rules about students answering calls during instruction?! Advise your students to allow their boss to leave a message and return the call after school. If the student refuses, follow any disciplinary action steps your school has for violating the school rule. If you get any nonsense about ‘emergencies’ inform your students that their boss is welcome to call the school office to get ahold of them in case of an ‘emergency’ during the school day, just as parents are able to.
