If TPM is what you want as a career then not really. Consulting gives you the flexibility and (usually faster) title progression.
TPM requires you to be technical. Lots of kids on r/MBA seem to forget that and then are flabbergasted that they didn’t get into a high paying TPM role.

FYI TPM = Technical Program Management in most companies. It’s either PM or PMT (only Amazon uses PMT afaik) for product.
