Gotcha @P1. I used a GPU but worried it won't clear bc I bought at a low fare class. How do I upfare? Didn't see any options on the website

You have to call in and tell them what you need. No airline I know of allows it online. They should not charge a change fee since you’ll need to pay them more and you’re not altering your flights, just upfaring.

helpful

Fare class aligns to published fares, e.g., UA might file a V class fare on ORD-SEA for $300 with a 21-day purchase requirement and require a Saturday night stay for a round trip itinerary. You definitely can “upfare” to a more expensive fare class to make it refundable, get you into business or first class, make it eligible for international upgrades, etc., but it definitely will not be free. What are you actually trying to do?

P1 nailed it. I’ve done it a million times.

I just turned 30. This last year of my life, I had a laser focus of being more financially discipline and paying off my 20k+ debt (loans, credit card, etc). And with this paycheck hitting tomorrow I will finally be “out of the red.” I don’t usually make these type of posts, but seeing other success stories like this posted in FB inspired me. Hopefully this will inspire at least one of you.

I left my consulting role of my own accord earlier this year (pre-COVID), primarily for WLB reasons. Notably, I was always rated a “top performer” and left on very good terms. I did not have a job lined up because I wanted to get out of the rat race for a bit and enjoy life. With the job search severely tougher than expected and repeated, explicit offers from my former partners to rejoin, I start to feel tempted. => See below...
