[Request] if anyones feeling generous and has expiring United Club passes, one of my good friends is going on her honeymoon Monday. I’ve already upgraded them to first class (domestic) but would like to get them lounge access before too. I’ve got one pass but would need another one for her partner. Anyone have an extra they could spare?
Chicago hotel options: The Gwen or W Lakeshore?
I just turned 30. This last year of my life, I had a laser focus of being more financially discipline and paying off my 20k+ debt (loans, credit card, etc). And with this paycheck hitting tomorrow I will finally be “out of the red.” I don’t usually make these type of posts, but seeing other success stories like this posted in FB inspired me. Hopefully this will inspire at least one of you.
Anyone flying out of EWR? How is the security check? I am running late and will reach 30 mins before my flight. ;(

What’s the best holiday present you’ve gotten for your parents? Thinking thoughtful and reasonable
I left my consulting role of my own accord earlier this year (pre-COVID), primarily for WLB reasons. Notably, I was always rated a “top performer” and left on very good terms. I did not have a job lined up because I wanted to get out of the rat race for a bit and enjoy life. With the job search severely tougher than expected and repeated, explicit offers from my former partners to rejoin, I start to feel tempted. => See below...
SM is pressuring me to reduce travel expenses due to a fee sensitive client. All my expenses are in policy. Should I have to suffer if the client can’t afford me?

Just got an offer outside accounting in tech and nervous as hell for what's to come. I'm scared that I won't be able to hang in my new role or with the new team and just want to say it doesn't matter how long you've worked, that imposter syndrome happens to almost all of us.
Advice please: Clerking after litigating for 5 years. Escaped ID early for a small commercial firm. Got solid trial/hearing experience at both firms. Lateraled to top biglaw firm in area to escape toxic screamer partner after 2 yrs. Lateraled to another biglaw firm for family reasons. After 1.5 yrs, covid killed my practice so I clerked to pivot. Most firms are interested but say I’m too senior/too expensive. Others dislike my moves. Thoughts on possibilities as a 7th yr litigator? In FL fwiw.
Any furloughs or layoffs at your firm? Moss Adams and Crowe seems like they let go 400 employees each while BDO implements pay cuts...?

Ladies what would you do in this situation? I'm torn. Position #1, manager of financial reporting for a private company aspiring to go public through a SPAC, no specific timing for SPAC deal, supposedly director opportunities will open up if company grows, went through rounds of interviews, Company about to make a decision w/n a few days. Position #2 - director of fin. Rep. For a company that already went public via a SPAC, more hours expected than position #1, just building out finance dept
