Anyone know what kind of experience or certifications I should be aiming to get if I'm trying to break into a pentest role? I just graduated last year and have about a year of sysadmin experience and am trying to get into it asap. So, I'm already applying/job hunting and probably won't get much replies but. Should I be looking at more security analyst/admin roles first? Going for certs? Getting a masters? Wondering what I can do to improve my chances. TIA
Fishes need advice, I'm a M3 and my Partners have repeatedly told me that I am the strongest candidate for promotion this year, they haven't said it for sure though. I got contacted by Deloitte Digital, and I am being offered a Senior Manager role with a slight bigger pay when compared to my estimated salary after promotion (10k per year). Is it worth changing? what are your thoughts?
How are the exit opportunities for Management Consulting Analyst/ Management Consultant from Accenture Strategy? Is Accenture Strategy considered a good brand?
I'll be joining Microsoft's FRP next year, and I'm trying to establish a plan for my LT goals. From reading various threads, the consistency seems to be consulting->FAANG. I've heard that mobility into a Corp Strat role is feasible - just a matter of networking. Since I'll be starting at Microsoft and Strategy is something of interest, can anyone share their experiences if they have done this or know someone who has? Wondering what role an M7 MBA may lead to as well (considering). TIA!
Hi All, I have received an interview call from Capgemini India for Market Research Analyst role and the interview is on 28th May. Will be grateful enough if someone can guide me more on this role.
I recently saw a role at EY in their GPS group that I may be interested in. Does anyone have experience working in / with this group that can tell me about the types of projects I could expect to get involved with. Also wondering if the bulk of their projects are limited to the DC area. EY
Final interview coming up for EY SC position. I’m absolutely freaking out about the case and technical interview. I’ve never been good with case interviews and they stress me out. Any tips, suggestions, or pointers?
My manager told me I can get promoted after a year. Now apparently the company will make it a thing to only allow promotions after 2 years. Not sure if it is better to stay or to look for another position? IQVIA
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Media 🐠: Other than money and the potential of better work/life balance, what other reasons attract you to a client side role?
Have a senior consultant offer from a Big 4 and a product manager offer from a pharmacy retailer (cvs, walgreens etc), but both are similar roles in digital PM/strategy. Which offer would be best to take to help me eventually exit to the tech industry in a similar role?
What are the potential exit oppertunies for a senior consultant in accounting advisory (Deloitte ara)
Digital Strategy M ready to move away from consulting and searching (a lot) for a connection into Cloudflare for a PM role - does anyone know somebody there?
I have the choice between a Masters in Computer Science or a position at a FAANG. Which would be more beneficial for my long-term career path?
Have a final round with ZS next week for an AC position. Any tips or topics to review for the structured case, behavioral, and unstructured case? Did intense case prep for a McKinsey final a few months back but struck out. A little rusty now, so I’ll review practice materials. ZS Associates

Hello Fishes !! I am about to receive an offer from EY GDS for a role of a Business Analyst_Banking finance (Principal Consultant) with a CTC of 27 LPA (inclusive of 10% variable). I am having 10.5 YOE. Is this grade relevant which they have offered, taking my YoE into account? How much i can negotiate upto in CTC front? I mean the highest slab of Principal consultant? TIA
I know there has been similar discussion here recently, but how is WSGR PA Corporate's culture? I've been perusing forums and hear really conflicting accounts with some people saying that it's horrible, while others saying it's good. Also, there was talk on people leaving WSGR en masse to other firms (especially Cooly) and WSGR not being in the best place (although that was pre-covid and I guess things might have changed since then). Is it true that WSGR is/was declining?
SO and my combined salary is greater than 206k per year, can we still invest in Roth IRA ?
Preparing for product manager interview for FAANG. Any good resources you recommend? Is there a bowl for product management?
As we have arrived at the core promo and comp season for many of us, just a shoutout to all of you. Hope you do well and for those of you that decide to jump ship..may the other side be greener. Peace out my fellow cogs...
I was contacted by a Gartner recruiter for a Public Sector Enterprise Sales opportunity. Can anyone provide insight to what this opportunity would entail? Roles and responsibilities? Ballpark salary and commission? I have a TS/SCI, masters, and 10 Years exp.
I've been in my current role for one month plus. I am ready to shift gears. The work is not challenging at all. Just filling out precedents and provided no guidance whatsoever. We are overworked and under paid. I no longer like capital markets. If I start applying for jobs, would it look bad that I'm leaving so soon?
How bad does it look to prospective employers to change jobs every 3 years? I've done this since college (12 years ago) and have tripled my salary as a result. Granted, I've switched between the same two companies each time, getting a big pay bump in the process. Now, the other company is looking at bringing me back again (3rd time). The pay bump won't be as big, but much better WLB, less travel, and I'll be able to do what I love. Opinions on this?
It’s 2020, are men still expected to pay on the first date or is it acceptable to split 50-50? Not trying to start a whole debate on modern gender dynamics, I just need practical advice.
Thinking about going through interview process at KPMG Management Consulting but worried about salary. I currently make 80k at a smaller consulting firm. 1.5 YOE Master's degree 80k base with 4k bonus Medium COL KPMG wants me to start out as an experienced associate. Can they match/exceed my current comp? TIA.
Real talk: does anyone else find all the bragging about super high billable hours kind of sad? There is more to life and it just reads like life not being lived. 😔
Going to be starting a new job soon (in consulting) after a break when I adopted a dog. She is still learning and I don’t trust her to stay quite through all my meetings. Do you think this is going to be an issue? How can I best manage the situation while we’re WFH?
Any Deloitte Advisory fish who haven't heard back about their promotion results? I still haven't heard back and apparently neither has my counselor. 😥
How have you guys celebrated career milestones? I told myself when I made manager, I'd finally treat myself and buy my first "big girl" bag. I feel like a big baby, but when I saw comp numbers this year, I cried. I haven't been in the mood to celebrate, but now trying to think of alternatives that might be easier on the wallet.
Currently remote working from Santa Fe and I love it here. Anyone know what the scene is like for single people in their 30s as I know that the population skews older (like retirees)?
