Look into state specific programs available. Also, you mentioned Medicare, have you looked into Medicaid? If any of your parent is receiving Social Security (due to retiring early) or any other income, that would also be factored in. I have researched this for my parents as well. Healthcare is such a nuisance in America. Good luck!

Will do. Medicaid isn’t an option unfortunately. Official early retirement is just a few years away though! Thank you
This won’t be a helpful comment, but I have no clue how ACA works... you can make too little for subsidies?? Any insights would help my curiosity but don’t worry about it and sorry this comment doesn’t help (but may help educate everyone?)
Expanded medicaid was intended to address this gap after subsidies drop off. North Carolina has not expanded medicaid to low income adults. The main result of the supreme court challenge back in 2012 or 13 was that states could choose to expand medicaid. Not all have.
What state and what is their income?

Thanks! 😊
Have you explored medicaid? And are there healthcare access nonprofits you can contact for guidance?
Chief
Yeah I’ve heard through ads or commercials about these companies or agents who help people understand what’s available to them. Just never know what’s legit.
How is Medicaid not an option? This is what Medicaid is for? I’d talk to several insurance agents that are independent (not affiliated with a big company but can sell multiple) and cross compare offers and advice
Nc hasn't expanded medicaid to low income adults
