McKinsey & Company Any McK London office folks here? Have heard rumours about an increase in base salaries for Associate (to £95K) to match close to BCG salaries. Can anyone confirm this? Also, if true, have bonuses been cut to allow for the base salary increase or is it roughly the same bonus as before with a higher base?

Hey Big4 fishes, especially at SM/Associate Director level!
Someone I know has been interviewing for SM/AD roles in the non-strategy business consulting verticals of the big4. They are looking to make an upward move (from M to SM) and two of the firms have given them feedback saying while they love the profile, they see a better fit at M since this person doesn’t bring selling capability.
Personally I call BS on that feedback but thought of checking with others. Views?

Any good neighbours?
You can also always find people on meet up groups etc. I was looking for a tennis partner and without knowing anyone I ended up using an app to find people to play with (and really did find a few good people!) so perhaps something similar with whatever your hobbies/interests are?
Dating apps would be a good shortcut (not without risks). Maybe try a new sport or an outdoor fitness bootcamp? Safe(r) from a Covid perspective, and likely to meet a good cross-section of people.
Meetup is also good to meet people, lots of stuff happening. Lots of groups for 20s-30s for different things and all super uncomplicated and fun
