I can’t speak for pwc, but at EY I think it’s like 30-40k at the associate level. This is also for JDs. Also, EY has the highest pay for m and a tax out of all the firms so not exactly comparing apples to apples. At pwc I’ve heard there isn’t much difference until you get to manager though (as in, I have friends who work there, not rumors).
It’s approx a 20% bump at associate level anyway. Have heard first hand from colleagues who have made the leap from core to specialty (no additional degrees, just undergrad).
Yes, M&A and ITS have higher pay due to more consulting work. Also most folks in the team would be JD/LLM.
What about tp ?
Yes, but you'd have to had a JD+LLM or a MST+CPA (in progress or have).
Yes. When I worked there I switched from regular tax to M&A and instantly went from 65k to 105k as 2nd year associate. Then got promoted to senior that same year and went to 129k.
The work I do now is 100% different than my old job. I work mostly on large publicly traded companies on business analytics and business strategy. Much more stressful than my days at PwC but learning a lot more.
Straight out of school (at least out of an LLM program) at EY is 115k (I believe NYC might be higher). You start as a staff 2 so you get promoted to senior after a year. This was what a JD/LLM grad would expect to make. Although this was a few years ago so it may have changed a little.
EY generally goes up 5k year. I have a friend who started 2016 with just a JD who started at 110k
I can only speak to associate through manager levels but it is pretty substantial, something like 30-40%
