Is there good awareness on mental health issues? Do most FAs go to therapists? I get the sense that most should.

BMM, sounds like you should get a life coach instead

like

The only life coaches I’ve met have been near failures at life. (That sounds mean, but in my experience it’s descriptive.)

I do and it has helped me be a very good advisor and listener

Curious, how often do you go?

Lol, me too, just not sure if it’s helping my marriage or not

Curious, how often do you go?

I feel like I need to if I’m being honest with myself but I have not. I butt heads with my wife constantly and some times I just don’t know if I can live the rest of my life like that. I keep going back to “for better or for worse” but it’s hard...

I find no use for therapy. I honestly wish that I could because I like the concept, so I’ve tried on several occasions. But therapists don’t provide strategy to execute. At least mine haven’t. I think therapists are a certain type of person and they communicate a certain type of way, but they are very bad at engaging with people who don’t adopt their communication methods. Ideally, a therapist would be skilled in using DISC, or Myers-Briggs (sp?), or some other sort of behavioral assessment. I hypothesize they don’t because the bulk of their clients, people who are more drawn to the concept of therapy in the first place, are already of a similar mindset.

Offtopic: Which is the best health insurance (company) to buy for parents? Please suggest as per prior firsthand experience in claims, settlement, premium etc.

My parent has a star health policy for which the renewal premium is drastically increasing (almost by 50%) every year at age 51.
With such increase I do not think it will be viable for long term. So planning to switch/port.

My plan is to transition to Part-time or PRN (once weekly) to spend time with my baby before he’s no longer a baby anymore. I’ve had excellent childcare right now from my mom from 3 months to now-9 months of age. Now that my babe is getting older and learning so much right now I want to be present more for his neurodevelopment. My trouble is… I love the income I make full-time… What age was your child when you went part-time or stay at home? And why?

Hello Fishes, its really strange to ask but I have no option left.
I have almost 2 years of gap in my career due to medical issues, but not its recovered and I am trying to rejoin again. I applied to so many places but has been seeing only rejections either due to gap and either due to my over qualification.
I am truly tired of applying and waiting for their call back and reverts, Its like getting into depression slowly slowly.

So I have completely lost interest in my area of practice mainly because I haven’t been exposed to many matters (our team is really slow) and I am the most junior in the team. So billable work is never constant. I feel like this has impacted my interest and stagnated my growth. I am thinking of moving into a different area of practice that I’m interested in. Has anyone ever done this? I’m actually depressed and I really hate being given work now. I have ADHD. Please advise

I got a full time offer from the company I interned at this summer. However, I have been applying and interviewing at various consulting firms so far. Some of them I won’t hear back until September/October. Is it wrong to accept the offer and then reject it if I get a better offer? I don’t wanna burn a bridge with this company since I really enjoyed my experience there but I have to be smart with my decision since I graduate in December and need an earlier work start date.
