No need to get tested. If you are really sick, go see a doctor, go to a hospital. If you are not really sick, like if you have flu-like symptoms, then please please just stay at home. While testing is great for data, it matters not one bit to your health. Just like there is no cure for flu, there is no cure for coronavirus. If you’re tested positive, nothing changes. And if you get tested today and are negative, you can still catch it tomorrow.

Do not under any circumstances tell your friend to go to a hospital unannounced to get tested. Call your primary doctor and describe your symptoms. They will then direct you and let you know how to get safely tested if they conclude that you need to get tested. If your friend has the virus and actually shows up at the hospital (assuming that person lives in nyc), they will expose the virus to a bunch of other people. Also - getting tested isn’t just for data, the hospital can hook you up to an oxygen machine given that the virus gets worse and make sure that you’re taken care of if you get to the point that you cannot do so yourself. Does anyone here actually read the WHO or CDC websites?

What is the best course of action for those who worked with someone with flu like symptoms but testing centers refuse the test them. The individual will self quarantine but do I need to? What does this mean for my roommates?

Seems like overkill to me. How much can you even really self quarantine if you're living together? You gotta eat, right? Anyway they're probably exposed by now anyway while you were thinking about it 😀

Consider a new pandemic, at what % fatality rate do you think vaccines will mandated by law for all citizens? This is not the last pandemic society will face. COVID has a low death rate compared to Ebola for example. What % fatality rate would it take for governments around the world including the US to legally require mandatory vaccinations of all citizens? Would it be 10%? 20? 50%? fatality rate? Or will we never mandate vaccines in lieu of personal freedom?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
