Does Goldman Sachs take out buy outs? I was reached out by the hiring team of GS but since my notice period is 90 days, they mentioned that they need someone with a notice period of 30-45 days. I did tell them that my company allows buyouts if the prospective employer requires it. They said they’ll talk to the panel and let me know. Should I be hopeful?

When is green light?
It’s self induced. You need to manage this with a therapist. The job that will give you this without you setting boundaries is a boring job.

As you get senior you realize that by focusing only on high value items, you end up decreasing your workload. You don’t need to solve every problem you see — don’t get in to fix someone’s subpar work and just keep clients happy. Some partners have mastered this and live a great cushy life.

Agreed. You either pay your dues in your early career days or later. Might as well work now and get cushy later
It’s all relative. There’s so many type A, hungry, fiends at BCG. Hard to not feel like you gotta stay on your grind when everyone else around you is always on that grind

Being a fairly senior consultant in a specialty field of your expertise- where there’s high growth, high barrier to entry, etc. write your own ticket my friend
You need to stay ahead of that is all. Be a specialist in the field not one specific software solution, and if you are in one specific product for a long time, keep tabs on the new entrants and if any pose a threat.
@op, Deloitte GPS federal is the place to be, especially if you come from commercial BCG you will get paid more than most

Any hourly or labour type job is like this, especially skilled trades
Come to Federal consulting. Take a big pay cut but rarely if ever work more than 40 hours.
In the before times we did a lot of on-campus recruiting. Tbh, I’m not actually sure how we’re staffing our Consultant (level 1) positions this cycle. I’m a manager (level 4) but have only ever hired Level 2 and 3 positions to my team.

I know a lot of executives that don’t work after they close their comps. Takes seniority + good company culture TBH
I think the constant pressure is part of the job. Hard not to feel like you need to unskill when everyday there's some random email or thread talking about new skills/trends you should know about
