Hi Fishies! (Is that what we are? I’m going with it)
I just came across a Google Research and Insights role that got me SUPER excited and I was about to apply when I had the idea of seeing if anyone would be willing to give me a referral. I understand (and respect) that most of you Googlers on here feel that a referral is only useful if you know the person but I would be happy to jump on the phone to give you some info about me. It would mean so much! 4 YOE at a major audio steaming service
Hi everyone, interview for entry level Allstate claims position. Should I take it being 3 business days since my final interview and no offer. The interviewer said to give it a week and that she was gna give my info to hiring manager to review, but I thought she was the hiring manager since this was the 2 interview outside internal recruiter interview. i sent a thank you email the day after. But i don’t know i thought it was a good interview. Allstate
Hi all, recently a recruiter from Amazon reached out for an SDE 2(2+ years of exp. required) role and I'm a recent CS grad. I gave the OA (which was extremely difficult w/ 99% cut-off) and other tasks related to the OA. A few hours back, I got a call from the recruiter that I had cleared the assessment and tasks and said that they are looking for 2+ years of exp. I said I'm open to the SDE1 role and said she'll ask her colleagues. Idk what to expect now 😥 Amazon Amazon India

CPA gives you more opportunities and is looked at in a higher standard compared to the CPA. I have my CPA and in the process of getting my CIA and so many people ask me why I bother since I have my CPA but I like controls testing
Definitely is good to have a certification. CIA is definitely easier than CPA in my experience but the longer you wait to get CPA the harder it’ll be
If you plan on staying in IT Audit, it’s a nice to have. If you are considering transitioning into something finance/accounting oriented, then yes it’s definitely worth getting. While it is valued and a significant accomplishment to set your goals on, it’s a significant investment so something to think about.
I would not get a CIA unless you are sure you can tolerate controls testing for the rest of your career
Thanks for everyone’s input! I guess my main question is because I see myself maybe doing a sort of blend between IT audit and finance (maybe a director of IA?) but I want to make sure that if I pursue another cert especially the CPA that it’ll be worth it. I like IT audit but I do feel like I need some more numbers/business at what I do
Yeah I noticed I forgot to mention I already have my CISA, so I’m wondering if the extra cert is really worth it. Currently in PA but would it be possible to transition into a general internal audit where I could do business process controls and ITGC when I have only done the latter?
