Hi Fishes
A bit off topic but relevant.
Did anyone hear abt TekFog & Persistent Systems Limited ? Did they develop it ? What's going on ? I wanted to apply (location preference) but am worried now if company is into these sort of unethical activities even more so if they don't even know about it.
Does anyone has any insights into it beyond the company blog post claiming they are not involved. Also how is the work culture there, are these sort things even believable for such company ?
Just give me the dog

Design is never really finished. Until it's out the door you can always try to make it better
I had a team tell me once that they felt that way... Turns out I hadn’t given them the reason for all the changes—consistency across many assets. I appreciated knowing they felt that way and tried to tone it down afterwards, and give more context behind why..
It’s all subjective! Don’t sweat it
My first design director was super hard on me, if I used the wrong term or made even the slightest pixel out of layout, she grilled me. It was all to make me a better creative and I super appreciate it. Maybe that’s a better way of looking at it?
Yes just ask if they can share their reasoning for the changes so you can stay on top of them in the future and prevent the changes in the first place. If they can’t supply a good reason, they either don’t have one are can’t articulate it.
Your creative director is your first and only client. Make him or her happy. Lesson One
Single point sizes can make a difference.
The changes might be important - but there’s also a phenomenon in just about every function and level within this business where if you’re sent something to review and you send it back saying “it’s fine as is” the perception is that you’re not doing your job. Your boss might just be feeling that.
Point sizes matter and pixel perfect design should be the normal level of execution for a designer. Especially if you’re working in digital
I’m an oddball creative, I’m a CW in agency-land but an illustrator outside (sometimes inside) of that. I went writing bc I didn’t want to deal with the insane pressure that comes with a design or art role/wanted to keep my passion project my passion. That being said, I have encountered this issue before when I’ve art directed. most CD’s will (or should) commend you for respectfully defending your work or pushing back with a legitimate reason. Remember- YOU are still the designer; if YOU feel strongly for or against feedback, politely say something or ask why they feel that a single point size adds or changes the layout. Your CD might not relate to juniors well. It is likely you will be encouraged if you find a constructive way to ask why your designs are constantly being revised past a normal level. Hope it helps!
I know I have a good deal of learning ahead of me but this is really starting to feel like micro management.
