Is this a red flag? I have been at 2 companies and have 3 YOE. 2 years at the first company and 1 at the second. Company I’m interviewing with right now is dragging me through the coals about it like I’m some kind of serial job hopper. Ive never experienced this at any other interview I’ve had. Is this seriously that big of a deal?

no it’s completely fine, if they are criticizing you that bad about it, that’s a red flag on their end. i have 2YOE and have 2 companies and about to be on my 3rd. in return i have increased my salary 120% since graduating undergrad and now make more than $120k

Red flag from them IMO. Why did they even select you to interview if it's that big of a problem? Job hopping is the norm. If you don't think you'll accept an offer, I'd just keep interviewing and use it a practice if you have the energy to spare.

Depends on the perception of your interviewer. This next hop will take you through 3 companies in the first 4 years in your career, and that could definitely be seen as a risk. Hiring is an expensive process and it might be a red flag of serial behavior. If you have a good story though, you should be able to mitigate it to an extent, but there are always going to be variances in perception.

I’m at the end of the interview process and it’s something that came up right before they were about to make me an offer. I was surprised. Very surprised. Thanks for everyone’s feedback. It seemed like a reasonable thing for me. But I was surprised how much they were picking at it

In the current market there is too much demand for the amount of talent. They are concerned you will move again in a year. To me that means they are concerned they aren’t paying actual current market rates so easy to poach.
