Appreciate this, will avoid putting together an app for the time being
Interesting. I got invited to interview with BCG Miami on Wednesday and scheduled a 1st round for April 3rd - I'm wondering if they are thinking of hiring for 2021 that early on.
The interview is for a Consultant level role
Nothing to do with Corona. I have a friend on the inside (was looking to apply last month) and this is true of some of the offices. They don’t want new hires coming in around the time the interns/fill time campus hires are starting. They are full for 2020 start dates. Nothing to do with you, but sorry you had to hear like this.
Here is an idea, maybe just setup a call like the sender suggested rather than crowd sourcing speculative responses.
Few things that are most likely facts. Boston office is still interested, else they would've flat out rejected you. Second if you selected Boston as your top choice, it's possible they are at capacity given their current forecast of work demand and staffing level, and your second and third location options (if you submitted) weren't interested.
Sorry your opportunity to pivot is now push back, but you now have more time to prep and further develop, which will help with PEIs.
Goodluck
Corona freeze
Ha McK did this to me way back when
I will say it’s fairly common. I went through McK’s experienced professional track and started chatting with recruiters in Jan and feb and was told flat out that the slots for that year were already full (typically full time recruiting is closed around October or November, maybe December at the latest). It just gave me more time to prepare and I interviewed in July and august and got the offer for a start date in March of the following year.
I’m a bit surprised that the recruiting team didn’t have line of sight on their pipeline and targets to know this was coming prior to scheduling your R1, but I would say stay in the pipeline and just keep casing and practicing so that you’re as good as you can be in a couple months when you have your interview.
V helpful perspective. Thanks
Well rip. That explains why I haven’t heard anything :/
Anyone got this for the LA office???
Damn
Uh I have one scheduled in April. Wonder if I should expect this email
Anyone hear anything from the Dallas office about this? Have a final round coming up in a couple weeks...
Nah as far as I know, Dallas is still hiring :)
Got told this via the phone
Boston, summer=July/August
Would this affect those with offer letters?
