Is timing your pregnancy to miss busy season on maternity leave considered rude or an unspoken "dont"?

If you can time it - do it, it doesn't always works on demand

like

Most people don't have the luxury to time their pregnancies because of cycle irregularities, fertility, and not timing conception correctly. But nobody should dictate when you get pregnant.

like

Wishful thinking. Definitely doesn't always happen when u want it to, but u can sure try!

like

Did for me :)

like

No body cares about it because they know you can try but there is no guarantee you can time it perfectly. We have two ladies out this busy season one staff and one manager. The staff just got promoted to senior as well knowing that she will be out the whole busy season.

like

It happens all the time, but isn't usually timed. Think about it. Busy season over early march. Add nine months. This is why happens to my wife and I.

like

I did and it was amazing 🙌🏻. My son was born Valentine's Day and I didn't go back until June 6th!

like

Well we didn't plan for that but it sure worked out that way.

like

It happens when it happens

like

*what happened.

At EY you were penalized. In my old office, one senior was held back from mgr promotion for missing her third year senior busy season.

We talk about it all the time - people do try to plan it that way and if it happens then it happens
I think people have come to expect it
Each year I've been at Deloitte there's been at least one person I know out for pregnancy and they didn't get held back in terms of promotions and people don't think less of them cause they've built up a reputation for being a good employee
but I assume it's based on office cause I've heard otherwise from other offices

Can someone walk me through the Do's and Don't's of AA miles? I think they're a joke.

I have 65k miles and I could only pay for a one-way ticket from PHX-JFK. I had to book 1 leg with miles and the 1 with cash, but booking the other leg in cash was about 80% of the round trip in cash.

My mom has 12k miles that expire soon, transferring them would cost me $450. I can pay for a round trip with that cash but I can only pay for a trip to my kitchen with those 12k miles.

What am I doing wrong? 😂
