Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

EY1 ah that sucks. You would think jury system would be one federal standard...
A2...if your performance is such that one week of being a responsible citizen is going to impact your year end rating, you have bigger problems.
It never hurts to try!
Companies are not allowed to penalize you for jury duty. Unless you are on a really long case, it shouldn't be enough to impact your chargeability.
I was able to get out of it. Wrote I was working in a different city
A1 companies aren't allowed to do a lot of things but really is it does affect your charge ability... And you can get rolled off a project if it's more than couple of weeks
*reality is
Yeah my coworker used it an an excuse but they said they would just postpone until a later date. Idn if they ever did though
Not really though you can try
I got out of jury duty said I had a huge client meeting out of town even after I got selected they let me leave
Second time I got it I was local and did it and never got called in... You just call the court and they tell you whether or not they need you to come in that day
Depends on state @A2 we have to all show up on day 1
I served in jury duty and thought it was great! I didn't have to travel that week and performed my civic responsibility. Am I the only one who feels that way? We are so privileged to live here, might as well be a good citizen.
Also, your employer is legally obligated to let you participate in jury duty. Therefore, I think you're being a little dramatic.
D1 one week is cool but I had friends who got stuck for couple of months. Yes they do let you participate and everyone has a jd charge code but in reality being not billable for weeks will affect year end
I understand the point of one week not being that long, but if you were on the bench for awhile then the extra week does make a difference
Let sigh A1 relax and read up "weeks" "one week is cool" lol. So are 2 or 3
A1 y so moody bro
