Is under 1 YOE too early to switch firms even if you have a referral? Will HR just throw your application out?

Never hurts to have a conversation. It’s their job to decide if you’re a good fit for the role. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take... That said, don’t make a habit of treating jobs as short term gigs.

Let's than 1 year is not experience. It's barely getting to a place where you can function unattended

I know someone that is now on their 5th job in 4 years out of college. Switched around every 4 - 8 months depending on the role and has gotten around 3 bumps in title and tripled their salary. Been with this most recent place over a year now. Do what you want. All this play it safe bullshit is people telling themselves they made the right call. I’ve been here three years and regret not starting my search sooner.

Your journey! Do what you want to do because there is no right answer

@KPMG1 thanks for your advice!!

You don’t help yourself moving so soon

What if you are entering at entry level at another firm that is better for you?

PWC1’s logic is sound at a certain point in life. However, if you are young, forget that and always be on the lookout for greener pastures. A lot of things in life happen by chance but you still have to put in an effort. Don’t settle for any job, friend, or partner and always strive to be your best self.

I’d rather stick with something for couple of years at entry level before I make the next move. But end of the day it’s your career /life do what you think is best

It'll be easier to make the case if it's a different city or practice.

Today I got a call for a position at TechMahindra. The lady asked me to provide my passport number over mail, saying that TechM requires a passport available with the candidate. While I do understand the passport requirement, what I fail to understand is why do they need it over mail? Generally, after all rounds we upload passport in the official portals. Does anybody have the same experience with TechMahindra?

I have 9 yoe and have a corp finance consulting role at a well known rx firm. I have been with the firm for a little over a year and am already bored. The work doesnt seem to be very challenging or interesting. Prior to this role i did corp dev and business dev in industry, i also did two years of pe straight out of college but it was outside the US. Is it normal for me to just feel that the work i am doing right now is way easier or mundane than what i used to do before?

Just a shout-out to all the LGBTQ+ consultants who are not in heteronormative relationships. Every time I read threads here wherein folks assume that someone posting about a wife or girlfriend is a man, or someone with a husband is a woman, I feel invisible. This also happens to me at work - colleagues and clients incorrectly assume the gender of my spouse. Please remember that there are men married to men, women married to women, and same-gender couples with kids. We exist!
