Hello everyone,
I have recently been hired as an Engineer Trainee from campus placements. The Job Description mentions both AI/ML and software development domains. I am more into the AI/ML side, but it seems that the team I am assigned to, is more into the software development side.
Is it possible that:
1. I get tasks on the AI/ML side in my current team?
2. Is there a way to switch to another team which works more on the AI/ML side? And will it be easy?

I am at the point in my career that I don't care what boomers think is unprofessional. Their old school ways are slowly dying out.
Oh, they’re wrong but you can’t control what others do. You can only control what you do and you don’t have to participate. I’m sorry that has been your experience. It misses the opportunity to learn from each other, imo.
Emojis are a communication element like any other which means they're entirely context dependent.
Just like I wouldn't use overly technical language in a communication to business stakeholders I wouldn't use emojis contacting a VP, unless I had prior experience with the VP telling me it would be well received, or in an email to a team member telling them they're underperforming
I consider emojis a way to come across as more relatable/casual, since text email alone has no “vocal tone” to be able to convey humor, emotion, etc 🎭
You work in tech at Facebook so it’s not like you’re submitting official legal briefings to a judge 😆
Definitely situational and should be used for more causal conversations
Don’t we use emojis all the time here lol thought it was normal and never questioned it
Go ahead and also use it in your resume and follow-up emails to an interview as well.
In an email I might use it even once in a blue moon to convey humor or light heartedness but in Teams it’s all fair game, unless talking to client
I usually keep email more professional and slack more casual.
Never gotten any yourself? :(
I get emojis from time to time via email, I send them all the time via Skype. Just depends on who you’re interacting with.

It's not in any way a replacement for face to face interactions, emojis can be misread like any other text. Teams calls and meetings are where you build the rapport that makes using emojis appropriate in given situations.
My team and I use GIFs in email and in chat all the time, and I do the same with longtime customer/friends.
I use emojis all the time in Slack since we don’t have tone or facial cues.
Just don’t use the winky face 😉
I'll use emojis in Teams, but never in an email.
The little faces like this. :-) are OK. Silly dog pictures or eggplants are not
Emojis? Try GIFs
