Is using the same template to email recruiters and CDs actually that bad? Obviously it’s horrible if you forget to change names and such, but aside from that is it really looked down upon?

Yeah! Who wants cookie cutter? You know it, they know it.

How would you personalize each email? I used to talk about a piece I liked from each place/agency I emailed, but looking back on those it seemed really ass-kissy.

External Recruiters: Is it true that if an agency has my resume (via online application), then you are not able to present me as a candidate?

If a recruiter reaches out, you have a great initial convo then they say they’ll follow-up shortly with next steps and don’t (after 7 biz days). Is it worth following-up? My sense is if they were interested they would be pushing the process forward?

How accurate are the salary ranges for job listings on Glassdoor?

General question about LinkedIn, but I figured recruiters may have a better perspective.

Is it really beneficial to have a LinkedIn premium account over the regular free account? I’m currently looking for opportunities and wondering if it really will make a difference to pay the price and subscribe to the premium account.

I got a verbal offer from a WPP agency today. The role's budgeted salary is 5k less than my desired salary.
The recruiter can get me closer but still not at my desired salary. Otherwise - it would have to go through a long approval process with no guarantee that the salary would even be OK'd.
I'm coming from a small agency, so I could be wrong - but I don't want to sell myself short by accepting the first salary they offer. Do I have any room to negotiate? Or is that risky?

Hello! I am stuck with a problem and need help. I've been working at a start up agency with good pay and benefits for the past 3 months. The problem is, I recently decided to move to another state for my sanity at the peril of losing this job. Upon hire, my CD informed me that the agency wishes to have mandatory in office visits about 2-3 days a week in the future. Now my q is - should i look for another job, then talk to the CD, or should i speak to them now. FYI I do wish to stay with them!

Why are interviews all on the phone these days? I get we are soooo busy, but this is about a employer investing in a hire and an employee investing in a company. Is it so bad to meet face to face

What are some important points to cover when answering “why do you want to work here”? Also how in depth should this answer be when filling it out in a job application?

Hey creative recruiters, where do you look for the candidates most? LinkedIn search, coworkers, wnw, somewhere else?

I'm days away from starting the freelance position that a recruiter found for me, then another opportunity just fell in my lap last minute with better pay and a better agency. Whats the best way to...

@recruiters how does applying through workday look on your end ? I always feel like I send my resume into this pit where no one will see it and just better to just DM recruiters.

Recruiters: When checking references, if a reference is honest that a no-fault lay-off is why you left the last agency, is that a deal breaker?

Recruiters - what do you look for most in that first initial phone interview? How can I make you want to absolutely pass me to the next round?

My AD coworker (not currently my partner) just got hired at a new agency and wants to bring me along as his writer. I'd love to join. He told the recruiter at that agency about me and sent my book. I also have another former coworker (creative) who put in a good word for me.

Should I reach out to the recruiter, too? Or is that overkill after two recos? I don't want to be bothersome. But I do want to show interest..

This all happened on Friday, if that matters. Thanks!

Are the recruiters that contact me hot by design?

I have a call with an agency coming up. I’ve spoken to this agency in the past and we like each other and have been waiting for the right fit. Here’s the trouble. I’m now 6 months pregnant. (Cont)

Okay, when you find and apply to a role on LinkedIn, and the recruiter's name and pic is right next to the role. Also send them a message saying that you've applied with a quick intro - yes or no? Is it an opportunity to make personal contact or just an annoyance?
