@WK1 I dig it. I’m curious what the approval process is? Do you show the client full layouts/posts? How do you decide which accounts you follow?

Thoughts on buying custom/modded seikos? They seem to range from the sublime to the ridiculous. I originally just wanted to get one as a beater but the sapphire crystal is a must for me and I don’t trust my fat fingers to make the swap. But now I’m seeing some very cool inspired designs at crazy low price points 🤔

What’s an industry appropriate raise? What are the determining factors? I just got a 3% raise, no promotion or title change after two years of working here. I was expecting a lot more. I guess I just want to get a pulse for what others get on average.

Everyone has the right to choose, but you do not get to choose the consequences of that choice. You can choose to not get vaccinated but the consequences might be that you have to change jobs or vaccinated people choose not to be around you. If you choose to not vaccinate your child then the consequence might be that you have to homeschool them. Choices all have consequences - whether good or bad.

Wondering how many investment hours other folks are putting in. I lateraled to my AM100 firm in June 2020 after starting my career at a small (12 attorney) shop, followed by a two year clerkship when I moved. My firm just instituted a new three tier system of compensation based on billables and I feel like I’m getting completely screwed because I had over 2400 hours, but a literal third of them are investment time. So I’m putting in tons of time, but will be in the lowest tier of compensation.

Our office is moving to another building and is going to have a new “no assigned desk” policy. We just sit wherever we feel like sitting, like a 7th-grade cafeteria. Seems like their intention is good but also sounds like a terrible idea. Has anyone else’s office done this? Not even sure how I’ll be able to request a second monitor now
