I think this kind of stuff is interesting. I’m genuinely curious to see what kind of flavor BTS is going to go with aren’t you? McDonalds bring a more globalized flavor profile to US locations is good for the brand. End of the day it’s usually not about the uniqueness of the idea. It’s what you do with the idea that makes the difference. There will undoubtedly something fun to emerge even if it’s not going to blow our hair back with Widen originality.

Hear you. Think that’s reasonable. Keep ordering your favs. McD’s is great for that too.

The creative campaign isn’t anything new or innovative. However, the execution was great. I loved the aesthetics of the whole commercial. I’m not sure if this is award winning work, but it’s definitely going to be huge with consumers for obvious reasons.

Part of Wieden’s pitch strategy was to celebrate famous orders

Makes sense. Using celebs orders is a good strategic idea, not a good creative idea. The work itself does nothing for me though, in terms of stuff I’d wish I’d done.

K-Pop is incredibly popular. The world's biggest fast food brand pairing with the world's most popular band makes sense. McD's marketers, W+K, whoever, are doing their job.

Borrowed interest. How exciting.

Campaign is sweet. What's wrong with borrowed interest? It's better than no interest. Also, BTS is the truth, and McDonald's is the greatest fast food chain in human history. Fuk the haters. Need to get smacked with a Big Mac bun and beaten to a BTS soundtrack.

Bet way more people know who BTS is than Travis Scott.

I can guarantee the gap is not as wide as you think it is.

Travis didn't come from just wk. Narrative in Chicago played a role as did other shops.

wk did it. Maybe other agencies helped on the back end.

Better get those nuggets while you can now!

I'd have spent the time and energy fixing that dry pile of sawdust they call a chicken sandwich but that's just me...

So you wouldn’t have done any advertising? Bold strategy.

I’m the person who tells people it’s okay to open up at work about mental health issues, and that it’s okay to talk about it. I’m also the person who struggles with mental health but will likely not talk about it at work because of the past experiences I’ve had where colleagues brushed it off and told me to let it go/be better. I just don’t want others to not have anyone to talk to… but maybe it’s really me who doesn’t have anyone to talk to…

Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team.

Tax/Withholding question: I make ~100k, my work withholds about 20% on my base, and over 30%whenever I get a bonus (actually) My wife makes about 150k, her work withholds 27% on her base, and over 35% on her bonuses (bi-weekly) Standard deductions, we live in NJ. Is this normal, should we adjust any withholdings? What would our refund (if any) look like? Any and all advice is appreciated—thanks!!

Moms, both husband and I are nearing the end of our parental leave. We live in a two bedroom in NYC. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. The plan is that I would work from one room and husband would work from another room. We can move the changing table and pack n play in the living room, and the nanny and the baby can hang in the living room. Does this sound like a good plan?

Note to removal defense lawyers. Bond approved last Tuesday, one week before today’s merits hearing. Client couldn’t get out of jail because bond payments in central Ohio can only be made on Tuesday and Thursday. Luckily, Judge continued hearing so client can be placed on non-detained docket. Lesson is to know when bond can be paid in your area to try to avoid future problems.
