Is working for banks on the tech side beneficial or one should stick to core IT companies?

Hm do you mean beneficial in terms of experience for landing other jobs? Or in a different way? I think as far as the technical aspect it'd be about the same, depending on the role of course

I work for Hsbc tech and earlier was in a service based company. Personally I feel both are same technically.

My previous company was HSBC Technology India too 😇

They pay a little less in my experience and you can learn most of the same things in normal tech.

Honestly the work is the same depending on your role. Being a developer is pretty similar wherever you go

like

It depends, the financial services industry is rapidly adopting new tech so you would be at the forefront of a tech revolution. But core IT companies will always be innovative even though it seems like there has been a cap on some lately.

It’s hard to understand COVID-19 rates of infection where I’m at or was, and the contracts was not inline with corporate ideals at least not in the IT sector. Their ideals was radical and the spread of harmful information on past events to prevent ethnicities to get vaccinated was alarming. It has highest infection rate in private sector. Don’t know death rates was strictly remote and put on non-sanctioned project NDA wasn’t signed and never knew until it came down the grapevine.

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

Breakups: ladies have you ever left a relationship while the SO didn’t do anything wrong? I just feel he isn’t the right one for me after moving in for half a year now. I think ending things is the fair thing to do, but I’m bogged down by the logistics (moving out/ dividing our things/ making sure he has a place to move to, etc). The key thing is he didn’t do anything wrong or fail me, he just can’t support me emotionally and communicate in a way I know I deserve

Considering switching from consulting to sales engineering/presales.

Getting clients engaged during the sales process, doing demos, and helping get them ramped up via workshops is the highlight of my work for me.

Curious about which level to aim for given that I'm coming in with 15+ YoE.

Also curious about switching away from the technology stack that I've mostly built my expertise around (EPM/CPM) to more broader analytics / SaaS toolsets... How hard is that transition?

As the job market recovers and tech talent becomes especially sought-after, some job seekers can be at a crossroads.

Fledgling startup or a big, established company: where would you work?

Working at a startup helps you pick up new cross-functional skills, forces you to dig deeper into your reserves, and allows leadership opportunities.

Big companies typically have a more structured path for career growth, offer benefits and perks to employees, and are perceived as more stable.
