Some days I’m working 2 hours, some I’m working 10. I think as others said it depends on a lot of other factors.
Typically Enterprise AE may have less hours but more planning and strategy versus a SMB AE who are hammering phones, booking a tonne of meetings and generally working a lot more volume
You either work 3 hours or you work 12 hours. Depends on the day, your role, how long you’ve been there, the sales cycle, the process, what types of leads you’re getting etc. typically starting a new sales position you are going to be more on the grind side, but after a few months once we get rolling with the company and have a steady pipeline you can manipulate your schedule bit more. Speaking to AE and similar roles.
Yep, this. Many industries are seasonal so it will be slow or unpredictable for a few months, then crazy busy all of a sudden.
Depends on the product you are selling and the culture of the company. Prioritize and delegate where you can.
In my experience it depends if you work tender or rfps or not
Have never worked over a 40 hour week
My motto. Unless I’m on vacation I’m always working. When it comes to paperwork the majority of it is done during normal hours unless I’m about to land a deal. Sales is 100% what you put into it. Some make a killing but don’t have a home life. Some have a great home life and make just enough to be satisfy their needs. I’m a mixture of both. I work hard enough to keep it consistent but I work extra hard and longer when I know the payout is much larger.
My industry is hospitality though so a lot of my accounts are open late. I don’t “normally” work more than 35-40 hours.
Depends on level, complexity of deal cycle, desire to hit 100% vs 200% of your number. Also depends on where you are in the deal cycle itself.
If you need a referral Im happy to help
Congrats. You are the first person to inspire me to ever comment in this um… app. Hope I am helpful with this: The question you need to ask is “What is the money like?.” Then you will be on your way…. Godspeed & Good Luck 🙏🏿
Yeah depends on culture. I find it's very variable depending how busy or not you are.
It really depends on the company. I've been at startups and larger companies, different levels of WLB.
Hello! It depends on your role and the product that you sell. WLB varies from one company to another. But I think your workweek won't exceed 45 hours.
Very nice work life balance. Some days are 2hr days
Do you have any idea, what would an avg person be making in SaaS sales?
"Average" would probably 80% OTE, but OTE will range based on comp split (70/30, 60/40 50/50), YOE, Territory, Deal size etc.
If quotas are correctly set up and you are better than average, you should be getting 100-120% quota attainment, and if accelerators are set up appropriately it should work out to 125-200% OTE as rough estimates.
Can be 10, could be 75 a week. Days before bid submission are always crazy, days before pitch are even crazier. Days post pitch are chill
It depends. The number of hours might be affected by the type of product you are selling. The company culture might be a factor as well.
