The point of a swim cap is usually for racing to improve your speed and keep hair out of your face. Not to keep you dry. Not really possible given the level of submersion. I second the above post about conditioner. Even just plain water from the showers to pre-soak my hair helped me when I was swimming regularly.
Nope, it’s never totally dry.
Aqua guard is some conditioning thing made just for the pool. It doesn’t have a lot of slip because they’re using butters in it too, so that might work better
Agree on hair getting wet - I gave up.
I do use a fabric one to keep hair out of my eyes and out of the pool, which is really gross. So please ladies, wear a cap. It’s really easy to put on and doesn’t pull at all.

I used to use swim cap but it wouldn’t help me much and also made me very uncomfortable. Now I just oil my hair, rinse it with regular water and apply conditioner before getting in the pool. Can’t do cap anymore!
But that oil and conditioner will leak into the pool and ruin the water for everyone else.
It helps reduce chlorine absorption if you get your hair wet in the shower before you get in the pool
It’s most likely the shampoo. Depending on your hair type, you should be using a gentle, moisturizing shampoo and good conditioner after each swim, and a deep-cleansing or chelating shampoo much less frequently, followed by a deep conditioner or masque for your hair type. Chelating shampoos are super-harsh. Getting your hair wet before you swim is also helpful. If you’re blonde and worried about that greenish tint from the chlorine, using a purple shampoo & conditioner designed to minimize brassiness can help too.
