Hello.
My job application status in portal says it is under review since one month but I haven't recieved any calls or mails. Does it mean I am still in consideration or they have put my candidature on hold?

We are not an essential business and we will not require vaccination - 1.) Liability, liability, liability 2.) Logistics of tracking 3.) Not in line with our core value of trust and accountability.
Definitely risk losing trust with your employee base mandating vaccination IF the work they do, and have done successfully for 9 months, can be done from home.
You CAN mandate but probably don't want to. If you do mandate, you will want to have a strong justification for doing so. If your company has a high number of employees who are at risk or present risk to others then you may have a business case to mandate the vaccine. If you have a lot of remote employees then that business case doesn't work out quite the same way. Depending on the specifics of your business, you may want to write a policy that encourages but does not require vaccination. This will also be the easiest to administer due to ADA or Title VII exemptions and the documentation you will need related to those. As stated previously, potentially tons of liability for denying an exemption...
I struggled with this decision as well. We came to the conclusion that we would not require them to be vaccinated however we would offer it on site and encourage our team members to be vaccinated.
I work in the healthcare field and we are not requiring the vaccine at this time. In the future, I feel this will change and will become mandatory. With it being so new there is a lot of uncertainty with the efficacy and side effects. You will definitely risk losing associates making it mandatory early on.
The normal drug development process is 10-15 years. This was done in less than one year. There was no animal testing. The amount of concern and skepticism is understandable. We will not require vaccination. Most employers never required vaccinations before (unless specifically work-related). Curious why we’re viewing this so differently. I think you’re right to be concerned about employees leaving if a vaccine is required. I’d also be sure this approach doesn’t violate the law.
