My daughter was an Urban Teachers participant in DC for nearly 2 years. She left the program early due to a complete lack of support by her local school admin and a lack of dealing with a member of her cohort that was verbally and psychologically abusive to other members.
She's since come back to rural NC to teach. She's much happier in her career here.
For a long time it seemed like both these programs were being used as fillers for credentialing requirement for medicine or laws courses. Potential teachers often barely made the year before moving on. I think where those of these who felt unsupported is basically because teachers felt like what’s the point putting my time and energy into mentoring this person when you knew they were going to leave for law school. Quite honestly don’t think I can remember a single T For A , Pipe-Line or Urban teacher who had completed more than a yr. Quite sad really as I am sure there may have been a number of potentially amazing teachers.

I teach in an "urban district" and we aren't seeing people from those programs.
I had a friend that did teach for america. She liked it. She is a business owner now.
