It annoys the hell out of me that airlines charge to check your bags prior to security but always offer to check your baggage complimentary at the gate. (Not that I want to check my bag, but still)

They charge for bags? Status, bro

Charged

Not really...the charges are there to limit the number of bags people can bring. At the gate, they just have to check it in cuz there's no space on the plane.

Yeah that's kind of a non issue..

Airlines like to reward trashy behavior. Why, yes, sir, your 50 inch suitcase 80-lb suitcase will surely fit in the overhead. Cross-check, motherfucker.

I recently passed the bar and need a writing sample to submit to potential employers. I went to law school a few years ago so I don’t think I should use something from law school. I have been working but everything I’ve written at my job was from a template. I think I need to write a new paper to submit but I don’t know where to start. Maybe a PT prompt from the bar exam?

Hey everyone - quick question. I applied to McKinsey for a BA role a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard anything yet - I'd be a lateral hire with a few years of IB experience. Luckily, since then I've connected with a former employee who plans to formally refer me. My question is - should I now withdraw the application which I independently submitted previously? Thoughts? Appreciate it in advance.

When you say, “we’ll keep you on file and if something opens we’ll call you,” do you ever actually do that? When new roles open do you go back through the resume graveyard for potential matches?

Moving to Manhattan from NOLA this year (bf’s work is relocating him). His office is near grand central but I haven’t started the job hunt yet. My ? is about where to live. I like Midtown East b/c it feels easy/convenient for exploring the city. Bf really wants to be near Central Park and wants UES/UWS (b/c we have a dog we run with 3x a week). I’m concerned the UWS will be a terrible commute for work/exploring & the UES is too expensive to shop/hang for us so we have to leave to do anything.
