Data analytics/analysis , business analyst type roles. Hundreds of legit online courses to help you get the skill set.

You can get into more regulatory areas. Cyber risk is another. I agree with the above posts about getting skills in analytics. I also have an accounting background so there advisory market offerings like financial accounting transformation and complex accounting.

like

@D1 does the financial accounting transformation and complex accounting type role require you to have financial statement audit background? Feel like what we normally do doesn't involve finance or accounting much. I also had accounting degree though.

like

Typically people in those areas do come from financial audit. But, the accounting background is good leverage and getting your CPA helps. Networking is a big piece as well. Selling soft skills. So much is learned on the job in the end.

thanks K1, anyone have anything to add?

thanks E1 E2!

Yeah no worries. What we currently have is also marketable. Just depends on how you sell it and integrate with the new skill set you learn. Depends how passionate you are about the move. I would say 3-4 months of solid prep will be enough. Good luck.

What is this opportunity you speak of

IT compliance or internal it audit

Thanks E2 K2!

@p1 most opportunities I've seen or heard of have been internal audit, but like E1 E2 said, probably need to learn some new skills to get something else

I'm going to be in an IA role soon on the technology side and @EY2 is right, data analytics is a hot trend in the industry

1st year here with a chance to interview for an in-house associate role at a Fortune 250 company but I’ve only just lateraled to big law in NY 3 months ago. The pay is decent (120k) considering it’s a lower COL (Colorado). The role has a very limited focus, so I really won’t be exposed to much but there is a lot of opportunities to change departments later on. I was planning to be an in-house IP lawyer but not this soon. Should I stay longer in big law or go in-house and grow from there?
