Have any big 4 announced compensation yet?
Which non-SWE roles are worth it at FAANG in terms of pay? Will any pay better than MBB?
For folks exiting to FAANG / Product at start ups or really any hot company. How do you go about networking to get the interview? Do you apply then cold email someone you may have an “in”with, or are you picking say 10 companies and then having warm contacts there that you’ll ping when you see a job. I’ve been passively looking for jobs but zero luck, I only want to leave for the right fit. Big 4 here so feel my brand won’t auto get me an interview like mbb/t2
Any opinions on Armanino? I have an offer from Armanino and other big 4's. Risk advisory and assurance. What I like about the team at armanino is that its very small and I might get more exposure. Not sure about the culture and progression and pay
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
Do you think it’s reasonable to decline a job offer right now to another B4 due to market conditions and the pandemic?
B4 strategy or general 🐠, would love your advice. Currently, 2 YOE at a well known non B4 firm doing PI/Transformation work. I didn’t get promoted this year because I didn’t have enough experience in my particular group because I was staffed on a different project for awhile. I’m interested in Strategy analyst roles (1 YOE). Will me not being promoted hurt my chances? I’ll probably get promoted at the beginning of 2022. Should I wait until then to apply? Thanks. Ex-Consulant here that now works for a big name Real Estate Investment Trust. Saw on LinkedIn that EY has an America’s REIT Leader. Didn’t know that much attention was paid to the REIT space. Are there really consulting teams dedicated to the REIT space in the Big 4? Love working for a REIT and would love to jump back to consulting if there were teams dedicated to the industry. Thinking about leaving Big 4 Tax to join Andersen Tax. Has anyone made the same move? Would you recommend?
Saw a thread around the time rd 1 decisions were coming out that b4 applicants were getting absolutely slaughtered. Did that trend continue in rd2 for you all?
I feel as though the big 4 have so much administrative stuff to take care of cause we have the accounting arms, do MBB or boutique consulting firms have to worry about as many e-learnings & shit?
Does anyone know how competitive LBS/INSEAD are to get into coming from MBB? Have been promoted at BCG and am considering LBS/INSEAD to get more of an international experience, but no clue how competitive it is. I have avg GMAT scores and undergrad for BCG.
MBB in Singapore, are you still recruiting foreigners that need an EP or is it only Singaporeans/PR now and for the foreseeable future? Would be interested to apply as an experienced hire.
What would you all say are the best consulting firms to work at in the federal government space? I’m not sure how many “prestigious” firms (like MBB) have a significant federal practice at all.
Going to MBB from Tier 2...worth the switch?
Worth buying a home right now? I’m In the MW & breakeven on a townhome vs renting apt is ~3 yrs. Mortgage (+taxes) vs rent ~=. The caveat: can wait 1 yr where supply MIGHT catch up a little to flatten out this crazy market while interest rates still haven’t crept up to that 4-5% average. Ill have more buying power with prices POTENTIALLY decreasing and more money saved for down payment.can skip starter and go straight for forever home. Or i can buy now and take the risk of selling lower in 5 yr
I was on a call today, with some clients, with regards to some evidence I need, as part of my testing. The client lead I report to, is OOO for a few days, so she was not on the call. And I was the only one from PwC. I’m having meetings with these particular clients only in the context of my current control. One of them had been rude to me on a previous call and was quite passive aggressive on emails to me. But I ignored those instances and kept communications with him to a minimum. Contd..
Curious as to what the views on canibas (medical & recreational use) are in the finance industry. From what I've seen, it's a stigma compared to alcohol, but maybe it just appears that way?
In the final round of interview with a San Fran startup that’s about to go IPO... but I know I’d be also giving up lots of the structures & project flexibility & diversity offered here at big 4. What rationale would you use to make a decision?
Pwc cmaas S1 salary for MCOL?
Considering moving to Shopify for a BD manager type of role in the US. Love the company, role is interesting and the team seems great (met them already). However, I have read comp can be low at Shop compared to other big tech in the US (even though there could be a lot of upside with the RSUs). Anyone know comp levels at Shopify? And overall career progression path (fast or slow)? Thanks!
How many percent raise and bonus should a senior going from S1 to S2 expect in raises and bonus?
I feel like I am so behind in my savings/finances. Senior 2, I have about $30K in liquid $/cash and $60K total (incl. investments, 401k etc.). I know I made conscious choices to live in my own apartment since graduating (in HCOL area) and lease a car (to be fair, no help from parents and couldn't afford to buy one), but I feel like I'm way behind in life. Anyone else constantly feel like everyone else has more $$?
Accepted to a cornell EMBA that starts in the NYC area in June. Just joined a big 4 in TAS - does anyone have any advice or thoughts on a) is this feasible schedule wise b) is this worth it? Thanks
Anyone work for Jabian? Thoughts on the company as a whole? Also what is the salary range for an experienced consultant?
Today marks 6 months since my dad died from Covid. Thinking about all of you who lost loved ones during this difficult time
Any moms here living in WA state and availed the 12 weeks parental leave( baby bonding time off) offered by the state recently?
Looking to eventually break into FAANG PM and wondering if I need to pursue an MBA first. Non-target undergrad, but have SWE and product experience from current and previous roles. What’s the best path forward? Any advice would be hugely appreciated!
How does one handle a situation where you are thrown into a meeting without having any background and asked to lead. For ex: director calls in sick etc... that’s been my worst nightmare
Any insight on getting MBA from mendoza as far as prospects for transitioning into a post-mba strategy consulting role? It’s ranked outside the top 15 but from research seems like it still sends plenty of grads to top consulting firms (not MBB)
This 4th of July has been the worst one in my whole life. I found out my significant other was cheating on me, my dog got really sick and now my pregnancy test came out positive...
Anyone having a hard time to focus on the job during the day too? Sometimes I just lost myself in a task or meeting (Too much time in WFH doesn't helped) Any tips or advice to overcome?
