It just feels so good to enjoy a quiet moment with your friends after a day in the field, the feeling of companionship can be felt even through the silence. I'll never forget those moments.

Friends in the field become brothers, even part of our being, that's why it hurts so much when we lose a brother in battle. But they are still beautiful memories that make us better people.

I have brothers in arms that, to be honest in my normal life I would never have known or esteemed in the way that I do now.

Life tests us every day, today I belong to a church congregation and I am a happy man with a family and it is all thanks to a brother I met in the army, life tests us but it gives us good people to walk the path.

Ha you're making me nostalgic for the good ol days now, it's been a while since we've all met up

Now that's a feeling you can't beat, that unspoken sense of camaraderie

It's the best feeling in the world when your entire team is working hard on achieving a goal and you've finally made it. Then you can just kick back and relax, knowing you have put in a good day's work. Yes

People don't usually understand when I tell them that there are things I miss when we're not underway. Something about having your whole crew together that just feels right. I've never seen the same type of camaraderie outside of the service

It's impossible to beat that sense of connection, especially if you have been through some really awful times together, really brings out the beauty of all the moments that aren't awful. It's not an easy job, not even close, but it's the best family you could ever imagine.

Anyone else alone on this 4th of July holiday? Decided to stay away from the crazy, drunk crowds, traffic, etc. and stay home. It is kind of depressing though seeing everyone else have fun & I’m all alone, left out. I also live by myself. Just wanting to see what others are doing.

The person I’m seeing has been responding to my texts days later (only a recent development) and it’s making me anxious. They have been busy the past two weeks with PhD exams and their last message was them planning when they could see me again (in a really flirty way too), so logically I know the delay is not a sign of disinterest. But I have an anxious attachment style (if that’s not obvious) and my therapist is on leave right now, so I’m struggling. Do any of you have any advice?

I feel like raising my kid as a single parent, and with each passing day the number, severity and stupidity of arguments increase with no rational.
