Imo I’m considering leaving my company for similar reason. If they want loyalty then they can fill my position with a dog
Welcome to financial services, where the employee cost base is ground down YoY by ensuring incumbent employees are not kept up w market. I feel your pain fwiw.
I wouldn’t say loyalty has ever really been valued, job hopping just wasn’t as accepted professionally in the past. Some companies took care of their employees for sure, but I’d say it’s less than it used to be
Loyalty is no longer important, and I would consider that for yourself as well. Why are you remaining loyal to a company if you could be making more elsewhere as a new hire. The industry is facing a lot of people who know how to ask for what they want, including comp, and won't settle for less. Right now, it sounds like you need to become one of those people instead of waiting for the company to notice you.
Because by keep working hard and deliver strong results at your job, you will give yourself leverage, whether it’s during the next performance review or opportunities outside. At the end of the day, if you are a high performer, someone will pay you.
Yep. Been seeing it across the board. I don't understand why they are paying new grads more than us....the people who have been here. Makes no sense to me.
