I’m not in tech but I just left a PM job in Munich 86k + 4k bonus for a PM job in Amsterdam for 97.5k + 15k + 30 ruling. I have 11-12 YOE
I moved from the US and had to take a massive pay cut to benefit from the increase in time off, improved healthcare and sick leave, and decrease in American work culture stress.
Depends a LOT on the specific country. UK and Spain salaries are somewhat comparable to the US. France salaries are a lot lower than US because of the high taxes & benefits
Spain salaries are lower than UK/Ireland for sure, but on the upside they have lower taxes.
UK, 3 YOE, £60k base
Sounds like you're doing well for yourself!
Nah I'm in a HCOL area, not quite London but close.
I should add that I work at a mid size company in Berlin.
Okay
I’m a Senior IT Project Manager in Scandinavia. My total comp is 112K € per year. 10 YOE
70k for Berlin is considered quite good. Not many tech companies in Germany pay well, it’s a cultural relic of thinking of SWEs and IT as a cost center and not a profit center. You’ll have to look to American big tech for really high salaries, but there are very few positions and a LOT of competition for those jobs.
For reference, I know a front end dev (7 yoe) in Berlin who’s earning 75k, and is quite satisfied with it.
@amazon 1… you make 350k with 7 YOE? I highly doubt that
