Would you mind explaining why you think the big name brands only rely on word of mouth? Big brands usually stay that way by investing a lot of time, money, and staff into successful marketing strategies beyond just flashy ads and commercials. It’s not about who puts out the most TV commercials ending with a “TRY TRIDENT GUM TODAY” CTA, it’s about the brands that keep their names top-of-mind for customers in even subtle ways. Seeing a Coca-Cola product placement throughout several movies and TV shows may not scream at you to run out the door and buy yourself a Coke right this minute, but it’ll make you gradually think of Coke first every time you’re in the market for a soft drink.

Well big name brand actually do both, but it also makes sense that smaller companies can't rely on word of mouth as much since they are, well, small

Smaller companies tend to be more invested in marketing their products because they don’t have the same level of brand recognition as the big name brands. This means that they need to target potential customers with campaigns that are tailored to their needs, as well as use targeted advertising and social media engagement to create a buzz.

It is true that larger brands often rely on word-of-mouth marketing, rather than actively engaging in promotions themselves. This is because these companies have already established a strong presence and reputation in the marketplace, so customers are more likely to recommend their products to others without needing extra encouragement. On the other hand, smaller companies don't have this luxury, so they need to proactively market their products if they want to gain recognition and increase sales

Smaller companies often have more to gain from marketing their products, as compared to large well-known brands that may rely on word of mouth. Smaller companies have less brand recognition and reputation in the market, so they must work harder to spread awareness about their products and services. They need to make sure people know about them and what makes them different from other competitors

Hi everyone! I need your help here. A quick background:

Junior copywriter based in Toronto here. Came to Canada about a year ago and did an internship at Klick Health.

Once it ended in late August, they didn't take on ANY intern full time. Been job searching for the past 3 months. Would really appreciate any leads/insight on some entry level gig or internship that might be available in this city. I know it's year end and it's hard, but I am still hopeful as I have seen people still get hired.
