Hey all, I’ve recently joined EY consulting from another Big 4 and have noticed there’s no discipline (at least in my team) around codes and charging time. People either charge a standard 7 hrs or some will charge time spent on internal activities to their client code. I was told that “the last person to charge their actual hours worked was promptly booted off the project”. Just wondering: 1) Is this a general cultural point accross all Consulting teams? Will challengin this get me in trouble?

Hi All, Need one suggestion. I joined Wipro 10 days ago, I received a laptop and I am in contact with 2-3 PM and GM for project allocation. I have given an Interview to Tech M without any intention to Join them and randomly given 6-7 lakh extra figure to them considering they will not come back but now they came up with an offer. Anyone else find so many things are just exponentially harder right now? Say you have a project or idea you’ve been told to pursue. There’s pushback EVERYWHERE. Those who work for me. Those whose inputs are necessary to execute project/idea. Everyone is DONE. And I get it but also don’t. It pushes me closer & closer to quitting, new job or no new job. One can only fight battles on so many fronts. FWIW, I work in a “matrix” organization, which I’ve come to believe means “getting nothing done.”

I just completed my 3 month probation period at a national ID firm and I think I hate litigation or at least ID. I also can’t stand the carriers and their billing audits and partners dumping cases on me that were neglected for months then they become ASAP. Is it bad if I start to look for a job at a different type of firm? I thought it would be good to have some lit experience for whatever job I chose to do later on, but I’m not sure I can handle a year of this stress and being exhausted 24/7.

I put my 2 weeks in and I literally have no billable work right now. Are they watching my billables? Can I just chalk this up as part of my "unlimited" vacation time? I'm available if needed, but also working remote, so could get away with doing bare minimum, I think.

Currently working at EY and will be hitting 6 months in June, while I was super excited- I have come to the fruition that it hasn't worked out for the best. Is it bad to leave around 6 months? I came in at a much lower level, even though I had several years of industry experience. It felt like a classic case of 'bait and switch' and really I was trying to get my foot in the door. Should I look at new opportunities or will this go against me? I am annoyed with myself for taking a lower role.
